Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed - Field -Tested in Banff, Canada First, let me say that generally OR makes terrific products. I am disappointed with these mittens, which I field-tested on the slopes of Banff, Alberta, Canada. I was thrilled that the mittens came with a mitten liner. Unfortunately, the liner is not warm. OR needs to put a warm polartec liner inside the mitten. My main problem with the mitten was they are did not keep my hands warm, even with hand warmers inside the mitten. OR needs to get away from these gloves and mittens that you can text with. The focus needs to be on warmth. Also, there was not enough fiber-fill with ruching and seaming , so the mittens themselves did not keep my hands warm. I would also prefer a shorter "sleeve" on the mitten. Yes, I did like the straps on the mittens -- a nice feature. To sum up, I think the mittens are maybe too breatheable. I would prefer my old-fashioned mittens that retained my hand/body heat. I would then dry out the mittens in the evening by a fireplace. Sorry, but these were not a good fit for me. I need to now shop for $30 or $40 fleece liners to salvage my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Mitts! I have an extensive collection of OR gloves. I wanted to explore mittens, as my hands get cold sitting around. I didn't have any expectations of these, and I am very impressed. They are warm and cozy. One of the best things of them is they are easy to take on and off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Warm!! Just tried these out on a 5 degree New England winter day. Felt like I had "little ovens" around each of my hands. Size was a perfect fit. Would highly recommend!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm but awkward I love the warmth but I found it frustrating to get in and out of these mittens if I needed to use my bare fingers. They were great for dexterity and I love the gauntlet style but I think in general I like a one unit mitten rather than a shell/liner style. I have bigger hands but the medium womens fit me well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Out performed expectations Bought these mitts for myself for a recent hiking trip to northern Canada. I have had issues with gloves over the years, especially in cold and wet climates. These mitts were subjected to snow and sleet and performed well. They kept my hands warm and dry, so much so that my wife confiscated them and began to wear them on our trip. I never was able to retrieve them from her. Since they kept her hands warm and dry, that is good enough for me. My only complaint (when I was wearing them) was that they run a little small. if your measurements are close to the next size, I recommend going up to the larger size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mitts! These mittens are super warm and definitely waterproof. I have worn them on the mountains (skiing) and in the freezing wind (watching soccer games). They have a little bulk, but you can still move and manipulate things. Two thumbs up!
