DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I buy and recommend all your products to friends and family I've had the male version of this jacket for five years now from when y'all supported the little guys. So bought it from wife, Who is outdoor the education director at The wood River middle school, and my mother, she kayaks every day on the Connecticut River. I enjoyed your professional sponsor for three years as a guide for Sun Valley Trekking. Your product is easily hands-down the best product for all around adventure and backcountry wear! Please return their sponsor it is very profitable for you because seven Valley tracking only serves people who can afford your product. And your product is on every shelf in the shops in Ketchum, ID. Plus Stio sucks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Softshell Jacket Perfect for snow. Keeps you dry so you can keep climbing without a hardshell. Breathes much better than a hardshell. Also impressively windproof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My fav! I wear this jacket to go canyoneering. It is very comfortable, as well as breathable. It protects me from light rain or wind while I climb or hike. I just love it!! And....Don't forget that Outdoor Research's warranty. They truly have the best warranty.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You'll be shivering. Ok. So--- I thought this would be a jacket (as it's labeled). A jacket is to protect you from the elements. Mild, yes, but the outside elements. I bought the light gray which looked nice and low-key, not flashy. Instead of a jacket, it is more of a long-sleeve shirt with a hood. In the PNW with chilly 50's and constant risk (or presence) of drizzle, it sounded like this would work well as a spring jacket. I wasn't looking for a straight-up rain-jacket or stiff windbreaker. I hoped this would keep the chill off and provide some protection from the risk of precip even as it becomes less likely in spring here. Nope. Not even a little lining for insulation whatsoever. You will be shivering like I was. When I hit some actual rain, it soaked right through. The "DWR" - what kind of precipitation is that supposed to help with? The spitting that might hit you running from a car to front door? The sprinkling that alerts you to put a REAL jacket on? I wore it on a few day hikes and it has already pilled up on the side where the backpack strap may have rubbed. "Abrasion resistant," yeah, right. Another annoyance is that you cannot push the sleeves up as much as you would if the cuffs were adjustable, or elasticized, or just not so tapered. You cannot roll them up because of the taper. I do not recommend paying this much money for a long-sleeve shirt, with tight fitting cuffs, and fabric that pills up. I am 5'7 and 145# and active. I am not hard on my stuff and usually my items have to be worn and washed a lot before I would see pills! Im VERY very disappointed in this [Shirt]. For some reason, I expected something more substantial than just an overpriced shirt. My bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as described I purchased an OR Ferrosi for myself and my girlfriend was envious of it when it arrived. So you know what that means......I had to buy her one as a gift for our hiking adventures. It is the perfect jacket for a cool windy day hike as long as you have a nice baselayer on. Breathes extremely well. Good quality....as all OR products are. She loves it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for trail or town I bought this because of the great reviews. I was looking for a windbreaking layer to wear on open summits that was more comfortable than a standard shell. While this won't keep you dry in the rain like a traditional shell, it's great for windy conditions and a light sprinkle. Moves with you and best of all, breathes. Fit is good but if you are borderline, size up if planning to use as your outer layer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good multi-function jacket! Great light jacket for hiking, biking, and casual use. Blocks wind pretty nicely on those shoulder-season days, would work well on a boat, good pockets, love the thumb hole design and the sleeve length. Could use a little more room for my badonk-a-donk, but fits true to size otherwise!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket This jacket is comfortable and the fabric seems really durable. It has stood up to a fair amount of bushwhacking already and is showing no signs of wear. A great warm weather outer layer or wind shell. Fits larger than expected.
