Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for alpine and ice climbs I had a pair of this that I used for one winter for ice climbing and some alpine climbing. I accidentally dropped one of the gloves during a climb on Mont Blanc massif and I was so bummed about that. I got another pair now and I am looking forward to more adventures with these amazing gloves. The heating on these is just great. I usually use them on low setting to conserve the batteries but I would crank it up to high if the climb is short or if it is particularly chilly. These are not waterproof and for the kind of climbing I do with them, the water resistance is good enough. My favorite part is the dexterity that the gloves have. I used them on cold single digit days to fiddle with twin ropes on a multi pitch climbs and I had no issues with working the ropes or anchors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They keep my hands toasty! These gloves have worked well for me. For real cold days, I got a pair of Marmot shell mittens to put over these and that has kept the heat in. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ahhh warm fingers!! I love these gloves. They have worked well for me in a variety of settings. I ordered the small and the fingers are a bit too long but I was afraid of xs being too tight. I have a size 6.5 hand. I love the low profile of these and have skied in single digits with warm fingers. Recently a back country ski guide told me the battery could interfere in a beacon search. That is a little concerning for me. Of course that isn't the gloves fault per se so I still give em 5 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No more frozen fingers I'm using my Stormtracker heated gloves a lot as we are having a very cold winter in Idaho. I primarily use them for winter bike riding where you need dexterity, but your hands can get brutally cold on the downhills. While the heat produced seems moderate at first, the fact that it radiates all the way down the fingers keeps even a sub-zero day tolerable, and the ability to adjust the heat helps to regulate the ups and downs. The batteries can be a little fiddley, and depending on electronics for warmth is a bit unnerving, but they have been good for several hours of riding on high, and are pretty warm even when off. Note that they are not recommended for use with an avy beacon, so I don't use them for backcountry touring.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent intent with flawed design Have used these gloves for 2 winters now so I've learned the ins a outs fairly well. First off, great dexterity in weather down to about -10C. They're not thick, and that's how they're designed. They're not waterproof, so using them in wet snow for hours is not recommended. They last a couple hours on high, but I often find medium is enough heat to keep my hands just right when standing around for hours outside on set. The battery system is the biggest flaw here. I've gone through 3 sets, mainly due to their design. The batts sit in the gloves under your wrists, so dozens of times every day they come in contact with all different surfaces...trees, rocks, tables, walls, etc etc. Very quickly I have found the batt packs lose their rigidity and eventually the cable contacts get lose and fail altogether. Secondly, the cable connection to the gloves is very thin and fragile, does not lock, and when the batts aren't in the gloves, I'm always wary of bending the connection. Best advice I can give: make the connection simple and locking, like a locking full size USB port, those are much more durable and in a pinch you could swap it out yourself if need be. The battery pack should be one slim rectangular unit, not 2 slim packs held together by a cable and black wrap, it just doesn't last. High quality lithium cells is a must here, they should hold their charge on the shelf for more than a week. Again, great idea and a great crack at it, but not durable enough for regular outdoor field use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good not great Well-made, well-fitting, and easy-to-use gloves. On the "high" setting, these will definitely keep your hands warmer than non-heated gloves at temps of about 20 and above. But for lower temps, or in windy conditions, I find the heat output insufficient. In these conditions, I need to use a pair of over-mitts, which will slow heat loss and improve performance (though, of course, the mitts reduce the dexterity that you otherwise get with gloves). There's a limited amount of heat that any batteries can supply, no matter how well-made. Bottom line: I like these gloves and am glad I got them, but they're not the super-toasty all-condition gloves I was hoping for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THANK YOU!!! At last a dream glove for me...my hands have been freezing forever..I haven't used them in the cold but I still have to write a review. First off OR Gloves are an amazing fit the Stormtracker follows suite. I went through the process of setting these up..read the manual and voila they worked. So easy to use!! The switch is big so you don't have to take off your gloves to go through the three settings....plus they are color coded so you know what setting they are on. In my first test they heated up fast. The battery pack is easy to install and remove. It sits up on the inside upper cuff so you don't really notice it and it won't be an impact spot to hurt your hand. Think about it..if it was on your wrist...ouch!! Oh and they come with a sweet carrying case for the charger, international outlets and gloves. Your guaranteed not to misplace items with this case! I waited for these gloves forever and finally I have them. Once I test them I will give a functional review...bring on subzero temps!!!
