Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Winter3 Shelter I've used this Jacket all over and had never betrayed me! I have a brand new and also a 4 years old and they perform almost the same. supper durable and hardcore in order to ski woods without getting stress what you might brake or scratch the fabrics.. It really feels like a shelter when it gets windy and stormy, specially in Patagonia where wind is an everyday factor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Preformer - Love it Bought a year ago to wear as my coat when preforming Ski Area Administrator duties for my agency. Superb performer in all weather conditions in the Pacific Northwest. Wanted a Gore-Tex coat with plenty of pockets, layer able and flexible enough to contort around while inspecting equipment. All star choice

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My favorite jacket so far... The jacket has great water-proofing, (which is why I bought it,) but the zippers are stiff, and the side pocket openings are noticeably on the small side. (maybe to keep things from accidentally falling out if you don't zip them closed?) The pit zips are better than old-school styles, but the zippers require very grippy gloves to unzip/zip. I love the powder skirt, and the breast pockets. And the internal pocket is a bonus. It is an excellent shell, with emphasis on the 'shell' aspect. It blocks wind well, but is not insulated. The internal micro-fleece on the inside is just to give it a nicer 'feel' inside against any exposed skin, not for warmth really. So plan on layering up smart if you are above tree-line especially, or in weather more than 5 or 10 degrees below freezing. Fit is roomy enough for most people. I'm 180 lb 6' guy, and the medium size has arms are just long enough, and with a chest area just roomy enough for two shirts and a mid-layer without getting too tight. If you are 200 lbs or more, you'll definitely need to get a Large or XL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well thought out jacket! I'm extremely picky. I bought this jacket for use in resort and backcountry. I bought a Large and am 5'11" 195lbs. The fit is just right for me although I wear a medium in some other shells made by other manufacturers. I would generally agree with others who have said it runs a touch on the small side. Great integration with OR pants using belt loop tabs in the powder skirt. So far so good in the La Nina season we're having up here at Mt. Baker!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from durable, dependable jacket I am 5'10, 170lbs...size MEDIUM fits me well. I do agree, the sidepockets are on the smaller side and the zippers are sharp so when you stick your hands into the pockets it's a little rough on your skin. No other issues, the gore-tex fabric is tough as nails and breathes well. I love the blue color, looks sharp and helps your friends identify you at the lift lines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I used to love shell jackets but as I just seemed to be too cold this year to wear one. I finally decided to layer up and I'm glad I did so I could use this jacket. THIS IS A SHELL SO LAYER UP. I used this for skiing while in Jackson Hole and Big Sky. In Jhole the venting was great as it warmed quickly. In Big Sky we had wind and snow...loved the powder skirt and the big hood to go over the helmet. Plus the chin area with soft fleece is super nice and the cuffs are great for under the cuff gloves..so easy to use with gloves on. Outdoor Research knows pockets: On every jacket I have they do incredible placement and use of material to put pockets where need them and on the White Room they nailed it. Inside stash pocket for the neck gaiter. Double Entry inside/outside pocket for cell phone. Outside pockets for lift tickets and other stuff. I have accepted that I don't keep as warm as I used to and now I'm back to loving shell jackets and this is my favorite.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could be warmer The design and quality of this piece is very good, large pockets, good vents and cinches etc. I have been using it for 8 weeks now in the French alps and I can say that this is nearly a REALLY good jacket, the truth is it's just not warm enough. The fleece lining is a good idea BUT it's not heavy enough to add sufficient warmth (despite some to the max layering) if they could produce this with a thicker fleece lining or some light insulation it would be perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket I bought this jacket for skiing, which for me is mostly snowmobile accessed backcountry touring the Washington. We've had an incredible start to the season this year, with near record breaking storms. I've put this jacket through the wringer of WA snow, which can often be close to rain, including breaking trail on a snomo starting from relatively slow elevations and digging out when I've been stuck. Any deficiency in waterproof-ness would have been revealed. This jacket also has really great breathability compared to other fully waterproof jackets I've owned in the past. Keep up the good work OR!
