Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality I trust I used this jacket on a 6 day backpacking trip in Yosemite. Weather got down to a little below 50 at night and this definitely kept me plenty warm. It's pretty compressible so it saves lots of room in the pack. The fleeced lined pockets are a huge plus. That being said, it's probably not the lightest jacket you can get but it did hold up against the times I'd rub against some rocks. I haven't been able to test colder weather yet but I have a good feeling it'll be able to handle most of what I'll be needing here in the mid-east.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Daily Winter Jacket I've had this jacket for 5 years and just replaced it with another one. I'm 6ft 210 and a L fits me great. This is my daily winter jacket unless it hits -20oC. Pockets are great, size is great. Perfect amount of insulation for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm, comfortable and reliable Got this down hoody to fill a need in between my warmer synthetic hoody that I use for less active cold temp activities (ie bumming around the ski area or lunch on a ski tour) and my lighter nano puff patagonia jacket that I use under a shell when moving or shoulder season activities. Ie something that is light and warm that doesnt need to be waterproof (or warm when wet) and is super compressible (down). The transcendant hoody doesnt quite get me there, but its still a great jacket in its own right. Why? because its just a tad too heavy and doesnt compress enough to be the jacket I want for say ultralight backpacking or unexpected cool evenings while traveling. Having said that its a great around town down hoody, that fits well, looks good, and it super warm, and actually if I had to have only one puffy jacket this would probably be it , since it is a good quality all rounder down jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect jacket Bought this jacket for camping and wearing to work. It fits me great (6' & 170lbs) size M. It is a great jacket for temperatures between mid 30s to high 50s with a t shirt or single base shirt. I love it. It is so light and packs into its pocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Jacket I love this jacket. I use it almost year round. Love the hood, I use it more than I thought I would. Fit is great. I'm 6ft 205lbs and the large is a great fit. Plenty warm, packs down small, will fit under a shell. I've had it for a number of years it's taken a bit of a beating but keeps on going. I want to buy another one but there is nothing wrong with the one I have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Everything This has been my go to jacket this winter. I've been so happy with the purchase. I've worn this everyday since the weather started turning cold...to work, resort skiing, dawn patrols, winter hiking. The size is great. I bought the large and am about 5'11" and 195 pounds. And I got the pewter/lemongrass color. Very warm when I'm not super active. Usually have to take this off after about 10 min of hard work on the skis, but I put it back on for the downhill trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! A very warm and comfortable jacket, suitable for in town or mountain adventures in any cold weather environment. Good warmth to weight ratio, good styling and features- love the hood on this jacket, when the wind chill is kicking the hood is on point. This jacket is the one I break out on the coldest of outdoor activities, and I live and work in the mountains.
