Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome, totally mind boggling! I always thought a wind jacket was worthless in my mind; however, after trying out the tantrum over a 1 year period I am absolutely stunned as to why I didn't try sooner. This jacket is awesome, is so lightweight that you don't even know it's there. I have taken this jacket from mild winds of the North Cascades to the extremes of Denali and it has done superbly well in both environments. I enjoy wearing this jacket very much. When hiking and I need some light weight protection, this is my go to piece. Yes it's not waterproof, but it's not a rain jacket. It's a wind jacket and you will be glad to give this Tantrum jacket a try. I'm glad I did.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Super lightweight, windproof, H2O resistant, doesn't breath Nice comfortable and very light compact jacket. Quite water resistant and very wind proof. The jacket has a rear pocket (like in bicycle shells) but no side pockets probably to save weight. The fabric is somewhat stretchy and it has thumb loops which is very nice in cold inclement weather. They make it easy to avoid that cold band between glove and jacket. The hood also fits well, I have always liked what OR does with hoods to follow you head. This works particularly well on this jacket because of the light weight stretchy fabric. Two things wrong with this jacket in my opinion, First it does not breath near as well as any other windbreakers I own (very surprisingly so). On moderate exercise perspiration will actually bead up on the inside of the arms and body of the jacket, yet it is no more water resistant than other wind/rain breakers. My goretex hard shell is way more water proof and more breathable as well. The second design issue is that the one pocket doubles as a stuff sack for this ultra compact jacket which is nice. However they have decided to stitch in a heavy duty elastic and fastex waistband into this pocket, which adds weight and bulk but the worst part is that you can feel the plastic buckle every time you sit down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket with one flaw... Overall a great piece. The fit is good without being baggy, the hood is comfortable and effective, and the added waist strap is nice for trail runs. The only real down side was mentioned in another review - the wrist elastic is very loose, which makes for an awkward fit when not using the thumb loops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Critical piece for sun/bug protection or layering. This is the most game changing piece of gear that I have bought in the past 3 years. I pair with a baselayer (sequence for fall/winter, ignitor for summer) and do EVERYTHING outside with it for sun/bug/brush protection. I have worn it in SW Washington for conducting stream surveys in places I literally had to tunnel through hawthorn (most people use a machete, I just use my jacket). I had the worst mosquitoes of my life this summer and wouldn't leave my field house without it. I usually throw it on for chilly spring/winter MTB rides with my sequence baselayer underneath. I have ripped sleeves on 2 pairs but I would expect this as I am pushing this jacket to it's limits; I happily continue to buy them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gram counters need this It's an athletic cut which is nice, but a tad bit more room is areas that require range of motion would be nice. I guess I should buy a large now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fit! A lightweight windshell that stands out to me due to a great, trim fit and a bit of stretch. This thing really fits me perfectly in the shoulders and waist, as opposed to previous options I've tried that provided a straighter cut w/ too much room in the belly and not enough room in the chest/shoulders (Patagonia Houdini). It also wicks moisture better than some windshirts and doesn't feel like a wet plastic bag when it gets sweaty. It looks pretty sharp and the hood cinch works perfectly. My only complaint is the cuffs---they're some of the loosest I've ever encountered. Combined with long arms for thumb loop use, the loose cuffs mean that they don't stay in place if worn normally, sliding down or catching in wind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Be seen! I bought this to be seen on my commute through the city or riding at night. It's brighter than I though based on the web photos. It's a great windbreaker. I don't use the rear pocket for a sac so I'm thinking of cutting off the belt straps. But great little jacket.
