Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super warm I’ve had these for a few weeks and have to say, I’m impressed. I needed some warmer gloves for winter walks, hikes, backpacking, snowshoeing, and skiing. These fit the bill at a solid price. They are very warm and have nice wrist retention straps and cinches around the base and wrist. They are long enough to go over jacket sleeves and clip together nicely when not in use. I have yet to be cold in them, even fingers. So far I have used them on long winter walks of 2-4 miles in weather between -10 and +15 degrees with some substantial windchills. They are almost too warm much above those temperature ranges for me. My only negative is I tend to get some moisture around my wrist area. I bought some OR PL100 gloves to use as liners. I have some upcoming backpacking/snowshoeing and will be using these. I have no doubt they will keep me warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New favorites I got these new gloves from a local mountaineering shop. I was in a pinch and had to buy a pair on the spot. OR has so many choices. I ultimately purchased these gloves based on price, comfort and features. They weren't the most expensive pair at the shop, but seem to be excellent gloves. I have used them for many ski days this year. My hands have been bone dry and warm even in some cruddy wet conditions. These gloves were a great purchase and I would buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, waterproof, & comfy - what more do you want? I bought this for my husband. He wanted warm, wind resistant, waterproof, and comfy. He wanted gloves that could be used to shovel snow, but also usable to wear when driving the car. We haven't put the gloves to the full live test, yet, but they worked well in "trial runs". Gloves look very well made. I was so impressed with the product, that I went off and got myself a pair of Outdoor Research gloves.

can these gloves be used for hiking  / mountaineering ?

Asked by: peter
Officially, the OR Revolution gloves are designed for skiing, but they are a great value for winter-use with all the features and warmth they offer. The waterproof/breathable insert, mapped insulation and removable leashes are all appropriate features for general mountaineering use, in particular, and could function well for cold-weather hiking, as well. OR does have mountaineering-specific gloves that tend to be more specialized: either being more dextrous with grippier palms for nimble handling of climbing hardware or warmer for comfort in full winter-conditions.

Measuring Guide & Fit Styles

OUTDOOR RESEARCH MEASURING GUIDE
To get the most accurate measurement, use a flexible measuring tape and use the measuring guide info below.

• CHEST / BUST - measure under your arms around the fullest part of your chest.

• WAIST - measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.

• HIPS - measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.

• INSEAM - choose a pair of pants that fits you well and is true to size, hitting at the top of the foot. Measure the inseam from crotch seam to the bottom of the hem.

• GLOVES - for the circumference measure around a flat hand at the knuckles, but do NOT include the thumb. For the hand length measure your hand from the base of your palm to the end of your middle finger. Use the larger of the two measurements to select your OR glove size.

• HATS - measure around your head where the headwear would be expected to fit comfortably.

• RELAXED FIT - baggy-cut layers designed for the wearer to move within.
