Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great waterproof lightweight pants but a little small I wore these pants for backpacking in Patagonia and they were the perfect ticket for the powerful wind and rain we encountered. They kept me warm and dry in all sorts of conditions, and were easy to put on/off or vent with the full length side zips. Go up a size however from the size chart, I ordered a medium based on the 32"/32" waist/inseam reported in the size chart (that's what I wear in jeans) and they are both a little snug and a little short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good design, good material I've used other rain pants, but I was looking for something lighter in anticipation of a long self-supported trip. These were my first choice and I wasn't disappointed. Gore-Tex is still the gold standard. They're also well designed, at least for the way I use rain pants. Unless the day starts out with a steady rain, I usually head out in normal hiking pants, so ease of putting on is big for me. These have great zippers all along the side of each leg, so I can pull them up over boots in a flash.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great in town rain pant, wont last in the bush I work in the bush from spring to early winter 6 days a week so I am always looking for high quality products. Although these pants are very waterproof and they are great for using around town, carrying in a pack as emergency rain pants or on a groomed walking trail, they ARE NOT very durable at all and I would not recommend them as a backcountry rain pant. I ripped holes in mine within the first week of use, they do not stand up in the bush at all. They ripped along the "knee fold seam" as well as along the side where the thicker material from the zipper ends and the thinner pant material. Again, I would like to say these are a great waterproof pant that certainly do that job very well, but just don't use them off trail. I am choosing "No, I would not recommend this to a friend" as these pants were recommended to me and unfortunately they do not perform as I had hoped and overall I would have to say I was disappointed because after the 3rd day of use they didn't hold up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants I try to always be outside and these pants are great. Other than my military rain pants, i've Been using a pair of gortex pants from the 80's. These are a real nice treat. Great fit and the articulated knees are awesome for an active persons. Pockets would have been nice, but they would have driven up the cost and compact ability.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The worst for large guys! It's so painfully obvious that no thought went into designing the XXL size of these pants. They look like MC Hammer parachute pants. Theyre so baggy at the knees and legs. And these are really long. I'm 6'2" and would need to be at least 6'4" to make these work. I couldn't believe how loud they are. Please start considering larger people so we can just get out into the woods and get active.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They live up to the hype. As much as I'd like to be able to say that I've used these on weekly outdoor adventures, the truth is I've only used them for bike commuting so far. That said, they've performed as advertised with a nice, slimmer boot-cut leg opening, amazing full-length zippers, and a light and trustworthy material that sheds any amount of moisture. There is enough slack in the thigh through the knee/shin so that they don't feel stretched out over other pants or too bunched up with excess material. I can't wait to continue to put them through their paces with some backpacking and wet-weather tromps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made lightweight rain pant I teach classes and lead field trips for wild mushrooms, so I'm pretty much always off trail, moving through wet brush. These pants are light enough to carry on every trip and protective enough to keep me dry. I used to limit myself to full zip rain pants to guarantee I could put them on over boots and not have to remove the boots to do it. That works as far as the boots go but then you have the issue of starting 2 zippers with often less than dextrous fingers. These pants solve that with their almost full zip - easy on/off w/ any boots.

What size does a large vs medium fit? Your size guide doesn't differentiate. If my husband's waist is a 32/inseam 31 what size is best? Thanks...

Asked by: Mart58
Hiya Mart58, thanks for your question! Size large fits a 34 inch waist, while size medium fits a 32 inch waist. Based on your husband' description, I would suggest size medium. Sorry for the confusion!
