Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Warm Fits weird The Floodlight is a very warm cozy piece of equipment. The fit is true to size unless you are a true XL. It i designed for big guys with no butt. Once the jacket is zipped up, good luck getting into a vehicle or sitting down on a chairlift, the bottom of this coat is constructed to more of a Large than an XL. I have a 36 inch waist and this coat is tight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Jacket Use this product to go camping in cold weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One Da*n Nice Coat! I live in North Idaho, and have worn this in 20 below windchill with a thing shirt. It is earm, comfortable, and I can get in the car from an ice cold day and leave it on the whole hour plus drive home and still be comfortable. Can't beat that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality, well made, and warm! It is always warm, but never too warm! I have LONG arms, and am 6' and this is one of the only things I have found that when I reach for something the cuffs don't go to my elbow. Freezing and well below, wind chill, and some rain exposure, and it has remained undaunted and I have remained comfortable. 3rd day tore the sleeve, OR says "Tenacious Tape" back in action, and no problems. I would highly recommend this coat:light, stuffable, great emergency warmth, and great everyday, all winter go-to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bring on the nasty this jacket ain't scared! This jacket has quickly become my staple cold wet weather go to. I get after it 3-4 days a week. White water kayaking, mountain biking, and skiing. This jacket flows between each effortlessly. Wether snow rain sleet or wind, just like the post office, this thing delivers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kills it in cold I cannot attest it is waterproof. It seems to hold up in light rain but I wouldn't wear it in heavy rain. As a ski pro I'm outside in all elements. This jacket kills it in cold weather. Under a shell or on it's own this is a puffy on steroids! With a pullover and a base layer insulation I've been out in extreme cold and this jacket blocks the weather. It rides big but feels comfortable. It actually sits well below your waist but that just offers more protection and warmth against the element.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great jacket for everyday wear! At 6' and 165, the Large fits about right for me. A great, warm jacket for everyday wear...I was comfortable with a light layer underneath in 20 degree weather. I'd buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket, I bring it everywhere I have only had this jacket for a month now but it has definitely exceeded my expectations. I primarily use it around town and when I backcountry ski. The jacket is very warm, windproof, and waterproof. I'm sure the waterproof coating will wear off in time but, for now, it is treating me very well. Due to the lack of time I have spent with this jacket I can't say much about varied conditions or durability but I will say that it has always performed well; even in 50 mph winds with blowing snow I stayed very warm and dry wearing this jacket. Lastly, I want to mention that this jacket does fit more like a parka or winter style outer layer. It is not meant to be layered underneath another jacket and the torso does run a little long but, that is how it is supposed to fit. I'm 5'9", 150 lbs. with an athletic build and I found the medium to fit exactly how I had wanted it to (with the torso ending ~4 in. below my waist and the chest allowing for additional layers underneath).

Is this the 2017 updated version or the older version? If so what's the difference

Asked by: Floodlight Researcher
Thanks for the question! As of today, this is the Fall 2016 version. The 2017 version will not be available until next Fall, so I can't say for sure what the differences will be. They are usually minimal -such as a zipper or pocket chance. Sometimes the only difference is the color options. I hope this helps a little.
