Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants I wear these out climbing almost every time I go. They're comfortable, they stretch, they're lightweight, and the drawstrings around the cuffs I can tighten to keep them off my ankles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent hiking trousers Got these as hiking trousers this summer, wore them up and down mountains in the NE for several months straight and had zero issues. These are awesomely lightweight so are great for avoiding your legs being eaten by bugs or torn up by vegitation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, highly functional, and good-looking Very light to carry in your pack. For cold-weather wear, you will want a layer under them or over them. On the whole, a great combination of function and good looks. Price was good and delivery was very fast.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight and mobile I've used these pants for search and rescue tasks, hiking, backpacking, alpine climbing, and crag climbing. They are VERY stretchy and super mobile. Something that surprised me how much I would like is the soft material in the waist, sits right on the hip bones and is super comfortable. The nylon is really durable and extremely lightweight but some of the stitching has started coming out after ~2months of moderate use. The seams are double stitched so I'm not too worried, but I don't think they will last as long as I would like. The pants are great for pretty much any activity requiring mobility and are comfortable even in summer doing high intensity activities. The re-inforced areas are cool and likely extend the life of the pants but don't noticeably reduce the impact of kneeling down or knee-bars. They are not at all a substitute for rain or wind pants and offer no protection from the elements. The worst part of the pants is the location of the zipper on the thigh stash pocket. It will always find a way to sit exactly under your harness leg loop and it will dig in, and it will hurt, guaranteed. That is what is keeping me from giving a 5star rating I am 5'10" 170lbs and the medium waist is perfect. It has hidden draw cords to cinch it down if needed and has plenty of stretch to accommodate post climb beers. They have about 4 inches of excess material in the leg, but the hem draw cords fix that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Great pair of pants for climbing, hiking, and other adventuring. I like them way more than the regular ferrosi pants largely due to the low profile elastic waistband. Almost every other light soft shell pant (whether Patagonia, OR, Prana etc) stretches way out on the waist for me when I use them for real activity. These don't. They are also comfortable under a pack or harness and light enough to be useful in a wide range of weather and temperature conditions. Love them and hopeful that some new (lighter) colors are on the horizon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly fine, but... I generally wear these pants on day hikes, or just around town during the winter (yes, we have mild winters). So far, I'm not putting these pants to the extreme test, but I didn't buy them for that. For general purpose day hiking on trails, they work fine. However, as the other reviewers mentioned, when you have to kneel down for anything, the knee reinforcement areas ride up above the knee, making them essentially useless. This isn't a real big problem for me, but i can see where this could be an issue for more strenuous use of the pants. It does make me wonder if OR ever tested these pants on real people before placing them on sale for the public.
