Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tight fit at first but starting to break in... Bought these after numerous recommendations from the Bridgeport crew. Decent water resistance but a little tough to get dry if they get really wet. 5'11" 187 lbs and ordered the Extra Large because of the reviews saying they were tight fitting, even though the size chart had me pegged at a Large. The XL's went back and the large gloves are starting to break in and loosen up a little bit. Keeps my hands toasty for early winter in Alaska.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great gloves but tight across the knuckles Bought these for a skiing trip to Val d'Isere, I run hot so wanted something that was only lightly insulated. For the first few days the weather up top was around -5C and these were perfect for me, I was skiing in a base layer and a shell with these gloves on. Towards the end of the week, the wind picked up and it got colder on top around -15C with windchill and I put a midlayer on and had to change the gloves for something warmer. They were ok on the slopes, but too cold on the lifts. The reviews I'd read mentioned they were on the small side, I usually wear a size large (9.5) so went up to an XL and it was a great fit. They were a little tight to begin with but loosened off over the week. Easy to get on and off even when wet. I love them. The only real problem is the diagonal stitched panel over the knuckles, there is no give in this and it really digs in when you make a fist making the gloves feel too tight.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seams between the fingers uncomfortable As others have mentioned, these fit pretty tight. Also, the seams between the fingers really dig in when you make a fist causing the gloves to be very uncomfortable. They are slowly breaking in, but not sure they'll ever be anything that I'm not hankering to take off as soon as I can. They work, and keep you warmer than a thinner pair (like Ironsights) but I find I'm willing to give up some insulation over comfort most of the time, so don't wear these as much as I would if they were more comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for mild CW shooting I'm a M in OR gloves, however these run small so I ordered a L and they fit perfect. These gloves are great for mildly CW, nothing in the teens or below, 20 and up w/ high activity and your golden. I can handle an AR based platform without losing dexterity (need to break them in just a little..).. however, I don't recommend them for pistol work. They are more of a heavier duty, patrolling style glove that doesn't give you enough dexterity for pistol work..if you had to, they would work ok, but for quals/training/range work/LEO use I would go with the OR stormtrackers. I have a pair of those in M and they are awesome to shoot pistols with.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from gets better with time There gloves were pretty tight and uncomfortable (not articulated like the better OR gloves) at first but since i have used them they took the shape of my hands better. I've been using them for patrol in lieu of summer weight search gloves. The dexterity is reduced but they keep my hands warm as long as I am active, and I can still manipulate my pistoll and cuffs. The pair I have has a seam on the left thumb which seems to be a sewing flaw. I'm 5'8"/160# and mediums fit me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good glove, small sizing I ordered these and had them shipped to Afghanistan to use over the winter season. My first impression of the glove is that it is well made and would work great for tactical applications in cold conditions, but unfortunately they are too small. I normally wear a medium in gloves, but when I had to squeeze my hand into these and could barely make a fist with them on I realized the sizing was off. Very disappointing since its nearly impossible to return them for a larger pair now. Order one size up if you plan on purchasing these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good stuff. I really hate bulk, I really hate being cold. I bought these specifically for every day use in Iowa, and something to keep my warm at the shooting range while maintaining dexterity. They do a pretty good job, My hands are right between a medium and a large, so I decided to go with the medium for less bulk. They are tight, but not uncomfortable and very little loss of dexterity. They are not the warmest gloves I own but they are the thinnest cold weather gloves i have. They do a great job handling cold metal items 30-50 degrees, below that they start to show the lack of insulation (not a surprise, nor would I expect them to be warm) They are just fine for around town below 30. 4 stars just because i broke the pull strap off the first pair but the OR customer service is great got me a new pair pretty quickly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too tight I wear a L in all of my other OR gloves, but this one is very tight. The nylon shell has no stretch...the only stretch is the diagonal spandex strip over some of the knuckles/back of hand (easily seen in the coyote picture). This would be WAY better if the stretch panel was straight across the knuckles. I can not make a fist because there is no stretch for my pointer and middle fingers!! Otherwise I commend OR in using good materials. I was hoping this would replace my old Vert gloves, but these are simply too tight to work...I guess there is a change they will stretch out a little.

How cold are these gloves rated for?

Asked by: Steve
Hey there, Outdoor Research doesn't provide temperature ratings for their items, so these aren't rated to a specific temperature. These would work best in milder cold weather and not below zero temperatures. If you're looking for a casual or climbing glove with a lot of dexterity this would be the glove for you.
