Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again Great glove for all cold weather conditions. The heated feature is great for when you are going to only be wearing the glove for a short period of time and want to take the chill off of your fingers. The glove is also easy to quickly take off as well. Enough room in the glove for a thing glove liner as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm even without the heat on Pros: -Very warm gloves, even without turning the heat on. (Everyone complaining that they don't keep your hands warm must not have very good circulation in their extremities.) -They take about two days to break in for much better dexterity. -The battery lasts VERY long. I wanted to completely discharge and recharge them before my first trip, and they took about 4.5 hours to discharge on high heat with the charge that they came shipped with. (Granted, this was just sitting in my living room on the table at room temp) -In 15F degree temps I never felt the need to actually turn them on. -When things got windy and overcast, I would just turn them on medium for 10 minutes and my hands were more than warm. Cons: -They don't come with inserts, so I imagine they will get dirty/smelly after a while -So order a size up or your normal size if you want to use thin inserts to keep them clean (I ordered a size down because I didn't think I would want to use my inserts with a heated glove, and while I didn't need the inserts to keep warm, I would have liked to use inserts to keep them cleaner longer) -I wish there was a way to charge the batteries over USB, I have a ton of usb chargers/batteries that would be nice to get a recharge while out on a multiday trip. Overall, these are the best heated gloves I have ever used, and near the top of my list for non heated gloves, I rarely needed to use the heater. I'll try to update this later in the season when Im out in the negatives. Im kind of a gear qu**r so I think I'm going to try the lucent mits out next for my upcoming colder weather trips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have cold hands. These are the best Gloves I've ever had. I used to be on Ski Patrol. I got frost bitten in my feet and fingers...a little. Enough to where my fingers and feet have never been the same since. These gloves are the only ones that keep my hands warm all day. I start off with them on High and then either turn them off or set them to low. This is in single digit weather with high winds and snow. I waited to use them for a whole season (1 year) before reviewing them. The batteries have enough power for an 6 to 8 hour day outside....at least for me. I don't keep them on all the time, just enough to heat my fingers. Very Happy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unreliable I got these gloves last year. They worked good for one season, then, this season, they began to fail, turning off intermittently. I got replacement batteries thinking that was the problem, but same thing, both gloves turn off intermittently, and I mean like every minute or two, they will just turn off. More annoying to be worth it, and I expected more from such a high quality company ( thought) as outdoor research. Very dis appointed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again These are really super gloves! I don't know what these other reviews are talking about having cold hands. The only problem I had was one of the batteries didn't work very well, so one hand was a little cold, but even without the batteries these are still really good gloves. The hand with the good battery was always toasty warm. The heating in the fingertips is really great! I called Outdoor Research and they sent me a new battery - no charge! great customer service!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I really like the gloves a lot. They work very well. Love how well the heating works. Subtle in the low setting and quite warm in the high. What I don't like is the bulk of the glove and the limited dexterity. I use them in backcountry skiing, and it's very difficult to do anything with the gloves on other than hold a ski pole. I think the cuffs could be designed to more easily open wider (with less bulk) to allow for fitting over the sleeves of my jacket.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Left with frozen fingers! I bought my Lucent heated gloves from REI but after a month of use and frozen fingers, I handed them back. I am a ski instructor in Alaska and suffer from Raynaud's - we can be teaching in temperatures ranging -30 to mid 30's. I am so used to having frozen hands that I had high expectations from the amazing reviews from customers that these gloves would help ease the pain of Raynaud's. I can be outside for hours and I do not have the luxury to warm up in between students. I would preheat the gloves before heading out on the slopes and from there onwards I would put them on high when on the lift and use the medium setting in between to save the battery life. The truth is that the gloves would warm up the back of my hands and my fingers would be constantly frozen and in pain. The low setting is pretty useless and you can't even tell that they are on. The gloves are well constructed and waterproof but they are quite bulky to use for ladies with very small hands especially when holding onto ski poles (you can't tell that you are actually gripping the pole) or helping students. The battery connectors would get loose occasionally and I would think that they went working but would realize that they had come apart and needed to be pushed back together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super gloves! I have Reynaud's Syndrome, which means that without gloves, circulation in my fingers starts to shut down just below 50 degrees F. I'm also a ski instructor, so I usually don't have the option of going into the lodge to warm up. With the Lucent gloves, I can get through the day in reasonable comfort. They aren't perfect -- I would appreciate more heat directed to the fingers. And Lance is right in his review -- heat on the palmar side would be better, but I think that might lead to a shorter life for the heat elements. I've been out skiing with temps in the teens. My fingers weren't warm, but they were still working right, and I was still skiing! As an instructor, I hang out with a lot of people who know equipment, and I've gotten a lot of positive comments about the gloves. If you need high heat, the battery life gets a bit short. I bought a spare set of batteries. I can report that a battery change on the lift is NOT an ordeal!

what size glove for a medium woman's hand

Asked by: bubba47
Hiya bubba47, thanks for your question! I would recommend either size X-Small or Small. The measurements for the X-Small is 6.5 - 7.25 inches (circumference) and 6.5 - 7.25 inches (length) and the Small measures 7.25 - 8 inches (circumference) and 7.25 - 8 inches inches (length). Hope this helps!
