Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for rope work I got a pair of these about 8 months ago for mountain infantry stuff. Been doing a lot of rock climbing and mountaineering. So much ropes. The gloves have held up really well, yeah the nomex on the back pills up, but always happens to nomex gloves. What I value the most about these gloves is that there is enough padding and leather to provide adequate protection with limiting dexterity. Some down sides: yeah they do bleed dye, the coyote gloves turned my hands orange after wearing them near continuously for two weeks. It took three days for hands to go back to normal color, granted I didn't try scrubbing my skin off. The leather is a bit tight and stiff at first, but after a few days of hard work the leather gone broken in and stretched out a bit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Get the Coyote I buy OR gear mostly for recreation but I thought I would try these out for work. I have structural firefighting gloves so I only use these for things like loading canvas hose, operating saws and extrication equipment, and anything else outside of a burning building. These gloves are flame resistant, which means they won't catch on fire. However, they ARE NOT heat resistant. At all. I will say they stand up to just about anything integrity wise. I use them almost every day that I work and I have had them for six months. I have noticed quite a bit of fabric pilling on the back of the hand and fingers but it doesn't feel like the glove is going to fall apart at the seams. They are often wet from loading hose and the leather stays in good condition with no care required even though these gloves are soaked through at least 50% of the time that I wear them. I will keep using these gloves, but I probably won't buy another pair, especially in black. The dye bleeds through literally every time I get them wet which leaves inky black stains on my palms and it takes scrubbing off a layer of skin to get my hands to look normal. I'm also kind of bummed about how the fabric is pilling on the back of the hand. It's the only Nomex fabric I have that does that and for the price of the gloves I would expect a tougher weave to deal with friction while I work.
