Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Hiking Pack! Received this back pack as a gift for Christmas. It is durable, light, and very simple to use. The fact that it can stand on its own with he fold out legs is a game changer. I would highly recommend buying this pack. Well worth the investment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Pack! We've owned this pack for about a year now and my daughter and we absolutely love it. She is 21 months old and loves to get in and head outdoors with Mom & Dad. When loading her in the pack, getting her legs through the openings takes a few tries, but once they're through, putting the shoulder straps around her and clicking her in takes a few seconds. Once you can master the motions of lifting the pack up on your knee, then putting the shoulder straps on, it becomes a very quick process. The shoulder straps and hip belt adjustments are great and provide enough adjustment for most people. The kickstand is an extremely helpful feature for dismounts and the retractable rain cover has come in handy many times. We highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, great options, easy to use! As new parents, keeping our active lifestyle is very important. Hiking is a regular activity for us so when we had the baby we knew we would want a hiking backpack. We did a lot of research on the most popular packs and this one consistently came out on top for comfort, features, and overall positive reviews from others. We LOVE this pack. It is incredibly comfortable for both wearer and baby. Our little one is happy as a clam in it. Pros: - Very easy to adjust fit to a variety of body types. - Good padding on shoulders and around hips (better than some regular backpacking packs I've had) - Height adjustable seat for baby. - Sunshade for gives amazing coverage. - Good amount of storage. If you don't need the bottom half of the storage you can just fold it in. - The drool/suck pad in front of the baby is removeable and washable. Cons (not very many): - The shoulder straps and waist belt will feel pretty stiff the first few uses. They'll become more pliable (but not weaker) with more use but this might feel a bit uncomfortable the first few uses. - The seat for the baby is adjustable (a good thing) but not removeable/washable. This is a pretty common flaw in many packs and would be a huge improvement if it could be possible. We all know how babies especially love to have blow outs at the most inconvenient times!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Child Carrier I bought this about a month ago and my wife and I took out our 4 month old in it. It was super comfy for both of us. Over 3 miles, the comfort level was unbelievable (although our 4 month old is heavy :/). Anyway, it was a great fit and we are super glad we have it and look forward to many miles of hiking yet to come! Also, if you are thinking about the non Plus version, I would like to note that the big section at the bottom to hold stuff was awesome with a baby (diapers, wipes, etc etc etc). Think about it, we are SO glad we have this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So glad we bought this We bought this in March of last year when our son was 5 months old and holding his head up without any problems. By far the best thing we could have bought for our travels. We do 6+ mile hikes almost every weekend. We've taken him to Hawaii, Peru, England, France, Italy, Switzerland and even just trips to the grocery store. This was so nice for museums like the Louvre where there are a lot of stairs. We just walked up them when other parents were looking for elevators with their strollers. We couldn't get into a couple of places in Europe because of the metal frame, even though we said it was aluminum, but overall most places just let us walk right through without much trouble. We used the rain cover when we were hiking through Cusco. We had a real torrent pour down on us and he was the only one who stayed dry. Also we had a large duffel bag already that this fit into when fully collapsed, but it flew inside that bag with no issues. Only real complaints I have are that my 3.0l Osprey hydration pack from my day pack barely fits into it. I can't fill it all the way up with water and even when I get it in, it often gets caught on the adjustable back part, so I have to reach in and hold that in place while I squeeze the hydration pack part in. Second is the sun cover can get caught on the screws while inside the frame. We tore a little bit of it when trying to pull it out. Also the sun cover goes into the bottom compartment section and is not separated from the compartment, so if you have diapers and such in there, they will eventually get in the way of the sun shade. They should add a separation of cloth so that it stays in its own section. My son is almost 2 now and quite tall for his age (37 inches) so we can barely buckle him in now because his torso is long. He only weighs 30 pounds so we're well under the 48 lbs limit but I feel we're reaching the end of it. Fortunately my 4 month old daughter is soon to be ready for it :).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The envy of hipster parents everywhere I found myself with the AG Plus after doing a ton of research into child carrier packs from all the major brands. The AG series didn't stand out with any specific feature, but it did check all the right boxes and narrowly edged out a competing pack from its German competitor. I went with the Plus for a little additional storage without the unnecessary bulk of the Premium. Side note - Why do you need a detachable day-bag w/ a child carrier? Are you going to leave your kid there and go on a short stroll in the woods? I digress. What stands out the most: Our daughter loves it. She literally crawls over and tries to jump into the pack when she sees it. This might end up being a negative in the long-run, but as for now her enjoyment is key to making this a good pack. Secondly, the pack w/ its AG system is very comfortable. Only detractors are that the built-in sun shade can snag if you're not careful stowing it away. Also, the compartment for the hydration system feels like an afterthought and you can have difficulty putting in a full bladder. Overall, it's an amazing piece of outdoor equipment. p.s. prepare to be the focus of covetous eyes when you roll up the the bar in Curry Village.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We got this pack to go on family hikes for our 18 month old and love it. I was a little hesitant after reading negative reviews about the hip belt but it hasn't been an issue for me, I am 5'4" and curvy and would say it hugs my hips without any pain. My 6'1" husband isn't as comfortable with it, but he rarely uses it and is still trying to figure out how to get it adjusted. That being said it is easy to adjust the height so we can switch while we are out on a trail. It has so much storage, which comes in handy with our family of 6, we can fit extra gear for everyone if needed. I really wanted foot stirrups, hydration sleeve and a sunshade, this pack came with all so I didn't have to make additional purchases. An added bonus for me is that my son loves to nap in the pack and looks comfortable doing it :)

Would the Osprey Poco carriers fit a person 4 feet 10 inches tall?

Asked by: Karen19
Hiya Karen19, thanks for your question! It depends on your torso measurement, not your height. It fits a person with a 15.5"– 21.5” torso size. (The hipbelt fits a 26"– 48" waist.) If you do not know your torso size, follow these directions to get the measurements: 1. Tilt your head forward and feel for the bony bump where the slope of your shoulders meets your neck. This is your 7th cervical (or C7) vertebra—and the top of your torso length. 2. On each side of your body, slide your hands down the ribcage to the top of your hip bones (aka the iliac crest). With index fingers pointing forward and thumbs pointing backward, draw an imaginary line between your thumbs. This spot on your lumbar is the bottom of your torso measurement. 3. Stand up straight and have a friend measure (you'll need a flexible measuring tape) the distance between the C7 and the imaginary line between your thumbs. That’s your torso length. Hope this helps!

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

ALL MIGHTY GUARANTEE - Osprey's Lifetime Warranty

When Osprey celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2009 they launched The Osprey All Mighty Guarantee. What that means to you is ANY Osprey product purchased at ANY time is covered. Any product, any reason, any era - the all encompassing Osprey lifetime warranty ensures their dedication to superior design, craftsmanship and quality of their products is backed up by their actions to replace or repair a pack so it lasts a lifetime. Or two.

Here are some details.... Osprey will repair for any reason, free of charge, any damage or defect in their products, whether it was purchased back in 1974, or ordered right now from this site. If they are unable to perform a functional repair on your pack, they will happily replace it. Osprey proudly stands behind the All Mighty Guarantee, so much so that it bears the signature of company founder and head designer, Mike Pfotenhauer.

Some Osprey All Mighty Guarantee FAQs:

What do I do if my Osprey pack needs to be repaired?
If you live in the United States and need a repair done on your Osprey pack, you will first need to obtain a Return Authorization number. You can do this by reaching their Returns Department at 866-314-3130, or using the information that is provided with a new Osprey pack.

What do I do if I just need a replacement pack part like a buckle?
Give Osprey a call at 866-314-3130 and they will take care of you.

How long will it take?
You can tell Osprey you need the pack returned by a certain date when you request a Return Authorization number, and they will do their absolute best to meet that deadline.

What if my pack is super dirty and stinks?
Clean it before you send it to Osprey to get repaired. The real reason is that there is a law that says if your gear is too dirty or odiferous (smelly), Osprey is not allowed to repair it and will just return it to you.

Do I have to pay for shipping?
A little bit. You are responsible for the cost of shipping the pack to Osprey, and they will pay shipping to return the pack via UPS or FedEx. Osprey cannot be held responsible if packages get lost in transit, so make sure you get a tracking number when you ship your pack out. Also, if you use expedited shipping be sure to let Osprey know (866-314-3130). They, in turn, will give your pack priority processing and return it using a similar expedited shipping method.

Do I have to register my pack to take advantage of this incredible guarantee, and/or need to be the original owner of my Osprey pack?
No! Osprey's All Mighty Guarantee is truly ALL MIGHTY. If you own an Osprey pack that needs to be repaired they will repair or replace it.

JUST A HEADS UP: If your Osprey product is not repairable and is replaced, the original product will not be returned to you. They will try really really hard to repair your pack, but if they are unable to make a functional repair, they will replace it. For products that are no longer in production you will be contacted by Osprey to discuss replacement options.

All good answers. So what is NOT covered?
• Osprey program packs or any Osprey pack used by outdoor programs are ONLY covered under Osprey's Program Pack Warranty, NOT AMG.
• Size and/or fit issues. Make sure you buy a pack that fits. Check out the size guide on Osprey product pages for more info.
• Personal preferences like colors you don't like, style of the pack, or not enough/too much room in your pack. Check the product description, features, specifications, and size guide to make sure you are ordering the right pack for you.
• Third party Repairs or replacements. Send your Osprey pack to Osprey and Osprey only to get fixed. Easy as that. And don't try fixing things yourself.
• Cosmetic wear and tear including any reasonable aging of your pack that affects only the appearance and not the function of your pack. Be proud of those scars!
• B.A.M.G. (Before All Mighty Guarantee) Repair Work. The All Mighty Guarantee applies only to repairs requested on or after January 1, 2009.
• A Osprey Hydraulics reservoir is covered by a limited 1-year warranty, which is the reasonable lifespan of a reservoir. Pouring and storing of warm/hot or boiling water in your reservoir WILL VOID your warranty, so don't do that. Reservoirs are NOT designed to contain or handle liquids at temperature.
