The Osprey Daylite Plus Pack is a small backpack for short adventures. This is the slightly bigger brother of the Daylite pack, coming at you with 20L of space. It carries more and offers a touch more comfort in the mesh and foam shoulder straps than the little brother does. Stuff a ultralight rain jacket in between the pack and the compression panel, for quick access while on the go. A small accessory zipper pocket stores passport or some cash, while the larger accessory pocket up top carries sunglasses and snacks with ease. Fill the main compartment with hydration reservoir (not included), an extra layer and anything else you might need on your quick adventure, on trail or around the town.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok, with limitations, will not buy again I bought this for travel and day hikes and it works fairly well for those purposes but because the side pockets don't hold water bottles(they slide out when bending over) you have to put the bottles in the main compartment which takes away space from the main compartment and makes getting water out difficult.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great except for the water bottle pocket This pack is great. Holds my laptop for work and ALL of the stuff my kids and I would need when out on a day trip. Fits easily under a airplane seat and has held up well with extensive use. BUT I am retiring this bag and on the hunt for a new onebecause as much as I love the bag, the water bottle pockets on the side are horrible. They do not hold the water bottle in. Every time I set the bag down or lean over the water bottle comes right out. Drives me nuts. Something to do with the angle of the pocket, sometimes the water bottle won't even fit in the pocket at all. It makes no sense. Other than that, its a perfect bag.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Water bottle pockets SUCK!!!!!!! My wife bought me the Daylight Plus backpack for our trip to Tucson (Sabino Canyon) hikes. I am very happy with the back pack with on exception. The two water bottle pockets SUCK! I cannot believe this product made it to market with this huge flaw. Just today I was hiking with my wife and dogs. I had taken the pack off to fetch water dispensary for the dogs. While putting packback on (very carefully I must add) the nalgene quart size water bottle falls out and rolls into the creek. Thank goodness I wasn't at 2600 feet in the desert in 100 degree heat with no water close. My suggestion is first thing Monday morning the Osprey engineers do their job and create a solution and redesign the water bottle pockets to hold a water bottle. I am selecting I would recommend this product but with a caution that the water bottle pockets SUCK!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love the quality but... I have used osprey packs for school all the way to backpacking adventures. I needed a daypack and I love the quality and size of this pack; however, when I wear this for an extended period of time (i.e. More than 20 minutes) my neck starts to ache pretty badly. I think it had to do with the strap/handle combination, but I really can't wear this on hikes of for travel. I'm really bummed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad choice if you carry an external water bottle I purchased an OSPREY Daylight 20 a couple of weeks ago for a hiking trip I was taking in Costa Rica. I didn't have a chance to try out the bag until my first big hike in the mountains when I discovered a design flaw with this bag. The side pockets are too shallow and wide to hold a water bottle securely in place. It was very frustrating to have the bottle falling out every time I leaned forward. I loved everything else about this pack and immediately upon my return to Canada I tried to exchange the bag for a different one. I was told by the Warranty Department that this is a "preference" issue and not a defect. I disagree with this assessment and I am a disappointed customer as a result especially given how OSPREY prides itself on its unlimited warranty. If you don't mind using a camel pack for your water there is no issue. If you like to have water the old fashioned way in a bottle secured to the side pocket you will be disappointed in this bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack for day hikes I bought this pack recently to use on day hikes with my wife and dog. I wanted something we enough room to carry water for all three of us, some food, some basic supplies, and rain jackets. Having everything is one pack makes it so that the other person can wrangle the 90 pound puppy. We are able to do all of that with this pack. It really has a lot of space, and it still sits comfortably when loaded close to its max. It is easy to adjust, so we will occasionally switch out who has the pack and who has the dog. We like this pack so much, we actually bought another one for use when we aren't out with the dog. I would very highly recommend this pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect pack for day trips. I bought this last year when our family was headed out west to the Rocky Mountain National Park. Our longest hike as a family was about 6 hours long and I found this pack able to hold absolutely everything I needed with room to spare. I purchased the 3 liter hydraulics reservoir which worked perfectly in its own compartment that rides right by your back. The main compartment has a divider in it as well. I was able to carry my jacket, lunch and even some emergency supplies should we be out longer than expected. It is super lightweight and you can hardly tell that its on your back. If I wanted, I could have even carried my hammock if need be. I also used this pack to travel recently and found it to be perfect to carry my book an travel pillow as I flew to CA, FL, and TX in a 3 week period. One of the best features that I like is the clip in the small accessory compartment which I use to clip my keys onto so I know they are secure when I return to my car. Great pack for the buck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing for its price. I recently purchased this for myself for BSA's 2017 National Jamboree. This being the official day pack. It is amazing for the price. I am able to attach my hydration system with ease. It can fit quite a few items inside. I like the front pocket in the front It does not adjust well with my body composition(tall and skinny), but It is not that bad. I do wish there could be more space inside. Overall I like it

I'm going to Portugal in June & want a lightweight backpack, I'm torn between the Daylite or should I get the Daylight Plus.

Asked by: Teddy55
Hiya Teddy55, thanks for your question! The Daylite Plus doesn't appear to be very different from the original Daylite pack but it is a completely new pack. The Daylite Plus has 20 liters of volume, which is notably larger than the other 13-liter pack. Other than the difference in volume, the Daylite Plus has a shove-it pocket which attaches to the sides of the pack through dual buckles and side straps. There is also a extra pocket on the the front. The advantages of the original Daylite Pack are that it is less complicated, less weight and less in price. Hope this helps!

Osprey Daylite Plus Pack

Size One Size
Torso Range 15 - 22 / 38 - 56 cm
Volume / Pack Capacity 20 liters / 1220 cubic inches
Dimensions 18 x 10 x 9 in.
Weight 1 lbs

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size the pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate.

• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size chart above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelt size info above to help determine your ideal pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

ALL MIGHTY GUARANTEE - Osprey's Lifetime Warranty

When Osprey celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2009 they launched The Osprey All Mighty Guarantee. What that means to you is ANY Osprey product purchased at ANY time is covered. Any product, any reason, any era - the all encompassing Osprey lifetime warranty ensures their dedication to superior design, craftsmanship and quality of their products is backed up by their actions to replace or repair a pack so it lasts a lifetime. Or two.

Here are some details.... Osprey will repair for any reason, free of charge, any damage or defect in their products, whether it was purchased back in 1974, or ordered right now from this site. If they are unable to perform a functional repair on your pack, they will happily replace it. Osprey proudly stands behind the All Mighty Guarantee, so much so that it bears the signature of company founder and head designer, Mike Pfotenhauer.

Some Osprey All Mighty Guarantee FAQs:

What do I do if my Osprey pack needs to be repaired?
If you live in the United States and need a repair done on your Osprey pack, you will first need to obtain a Return Authorization number. You can do this by reaching their Returns Department at 866-314-3130, or using the information that is provided with a new Osprey pack.

What do I do if I just need a replacement pack part like a buckle?
Give Osprey a call at 866-314-3130 and they will take care of you.

How long will it take?
You can tell Osprey you need the pack returned by a certain date when you request a Return Authorization number, and they will do their absolute best to meet that deadline.

What if my pack is super dirty and stinks?
Clean it before you send it to Osprey to get repaired. The real reason is that there is a law that says if your gear is too dirty or odiferous (smelly), Osprey is not allowed to repair it and will just return it to you.

Do I have to pay for shipping?
A little bit. You are responsible for the cost of shipping the pack to Osprey, and they will pay shipping to return the pack via UPS or FedEx. Osprey cannot be held responsible if packages get lost in transit, so make sure you get a tracking number when you ship your pack out. Also, if you use expedited shipping be sure to let Osprey know (866-314-3130). They, in turn, will give your pack priority processing and return it using a similar expedited shipping method.

Do I have to register my pack to take advantage of this incredible guarantee, and/or need to be the original owner of my Osprey pack?
No! Osprey's All Mighty Guarantee is truly ALL MIGHTY. If you own an Osprey pack that needs to be repaired they will repair or replace it.

JUST A HEADS UP: If your Osprey product is not repairable and is replaced, the original product will not be returned to you. They will try really really hard to repair your pack, but if they are unable to make a functional repair, they will replace it. For products that are no longer in production you will be contacted by Osprey to discuss replacement options.

All good answers. So what is NOT covered?
• Osprey program packs or any Osprey pack used by outdoor programs are ONLY covered under Osprey's Program Pack Warranty, NOT AMG.
• Size and/or fit issues. Make sure you buy a pack that fits. Check out the size guide on Osprey product pages for more info.
• Personal preferences like colors you don't like, style of the pack, or not enough/too much room in your pack. Check the product description, features, specifications, and size guide to make sure you are ordering the right pack for you.
• Third party Repairs or replacements. Send your Osprey pack to Osprey and Osprey only to get fixed. Easy as that. And don't try fixing things yourself.
• Cosmetic wear and tear including any reasonable aging of your pack that affects only the appearance and not the function of your pack. Be proud of those scars!
• B.A.M.G. (Before All Mighty Guarantee) Repair Work. The All Mighty Guarantee applies only to repairs requested on or after January 1, 2009.
• A Osprey Hydraulics reservoir is covered by a limited 1-year warranty, which is the reasonable lifespan of a reservoir. Pouring and storing of warm/hot or boiling water in your reservoir WILL VOID your warranty, so don't do that. Reservoirs are NOT designed to contain or handle liquids at temperature.
