The Osprey Daylite Plus Pack is a small backpack for short adventures. This is the slightly bigger brother of the Daylite pack, coming at you with 20L of space. It carries more and offers a touch more comfort in the mesh and foam shoulder straps than the little brother does. Stuff a ultralight rain jacket in between the pack and the compression panel, for quick access while on the go. A small accessory zipper pocket stores passport or some cash, while the larger accessory pocket up top carries sunglasses and snacks with ease. Fill the main compartment with hydration reservoir (not included), an extra layer and anything else you might need on your quick adventure, on trail or around the town.

FEATURES of the Osprey Daylite Plus Pack

  • Panel Load Access: Large panel loading main compartment provides accessibility to inside contents
  • Side Mesh Pockets: Dual stretch mesh side pockets provide additional storage options
  • Front Pocket: The front zippered pocket with mesh organizer and key clip offers organizations for smaller items
  • Interior Sleeve: The multi-function interior sleeve can be used for either a Osprey Hydraulics reservoir or tablet
  • Comfortable Backpanel: Mesh-covered die-cut foam backpanel provides both comfort and ventilation
  • Interior Sleeve: Use the multi-function interior sleeve for either an Osprey Hydraulics reservoir or a tablet
  • Front Panel Shove-It Pocket: Great for stashing a light rain shell and other smaller items
  • Front Panel Stash Pocket: Vertical zippered front pocket with key clip and room for small items
  • Compatibility as an attachment to several Osprey travel and backpacking bags for additional storage and carry options, the Daylite is a great bag to have around town or as a summit pack
  • Like the day it was designed for, the Daylite is easy, uncomplicated and comfortable

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Pack This pack was the perfect daypack for my three month trip to SE asia. I used it nearly every day. It's comfortable, suitable for day hikes, and well designed. Just for reference, I could fit the following in the pack: A lightweight fleece jacket, a rainjacket, a bottle each of sunscreen and bug spray, maps, a guidebook, a kindle (in the laptop pocket), a few granola bars, and a baseball cap, and still have a little extra room at the top. It was pretty durable as well. It has just the right amount of organization. It stood up to 10 days of intense day hikes, being flung on top of buses and shoved on the back of trucks, covered in dust and dirt without even the tiniest rip. I popped it in the sink with some castille soap when I got home and it looked just like new! The side mesh pockets were a problem, because, as many reviews have said, they are too small to fit the standard 1 liter Nalgenes or similar without the bottles slipping out. However, the buckles that are on each side (running from the shove-it pocket to just below each shoulder) have little holes in them that you can thread small, lightweight caribiners through to clip to larger water bottles. I gather that the Daylite series is really designed for use with a hydration bladder anyway. Unfortunately, the front shove-it pocket was too small to fit my raincoat, which totally defeated the purpose. However, luckily the backpack is spacious enough to fit my raincoat and another jacket inside, so I didn't really need it. It just seemed a bit pointless. Overall, I absolutely love my Daylite Plus and would definitely recommend it for travelers and day hikers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile and Minimal This pack is perfect for a half day or even a full day jaunt, especially if you are a small person and your personal effects like a jacket are small. The slash pocket incorporated into the front "stuff" pocket really makes a difference. My Magma Orange model is actually two-tone, with both colors being less bright than pictured. I wish the pack had a normal grab loop, longer flat nylon webbing for the shoulder straps, and a more substantial front material which does not wrinkle permanently no matter how much is put in the front compartment. Osprey makes some remarkable packs, many of which are very comfortable and quite functional, despite their appearing a bit futuristic. Overall quality of their whole line is very good. Just realize that this pack is spartan, made of thin materials, and sized small no matter what the specs indicate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect size for a day hike I have used this bag for a while now. It is great for day adventures. Perfect size for fitting layers, multiple water bottles, and all of your smaller accessories. I think the pockets are great, and I just got a bladder to slide in the back!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas, very good quality and for a good price. The color is exactly the same as the photo, received the item in only a couple of days which was surprising. Good buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Everyday pack Bought the orange one for my wife and of course now I'm a little jealous as it's a great every day backpack. I've got a laptop backpack for work but it's a little bulkier and this one is just very well thought out in every way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag at a great price I bought this bag to carry climbing gear to the gym. So far it has worked out well. Great size, good pockets for various gear. I haven’t used it outdoors anywhere yet, but it should be good for hiking.

I'm going to Portugal in June & want a lightweight backpack, I'm torn between the Daylite or should I get the Daylight Plus.

Asked by: Teddy55
Hiya Teddy55, thanks for your question! The Daylite Plus doesn't appear to be very different from the original Daylite pack but it is a completely new pack. The Daylite Plus has 20 liters of volume, which is notably larger than the other 13-liter pack. Other than the difference in volume, the Daylite Plus has a shove-it pocket which attaches to the sides of the pack through dual buckles and side straps. There is also a extra pocket on the the front. The advantages of the original Daylite Pack are that it is less complicated, less weight and less in price. Hope this helps!

- + Size Guide

Osprey Daylite Plus Pack

Size One Size
Torso Range 15 - 22 / 38 - 56 cm
Volume / Pack Capacity 20 liters / 1220 cubic inches
Dimensions 18 x 10 x 9 in.
Weight 1 lbs

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size the pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate.

HOW to MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size chart above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW to MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelt size info above to help determine your ideal pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

ALL MIGHTY GUARANTEE - Osprey's Lifetime Warranty

When Osprey celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2009 they launched The Osprey All Mighty Guarantee. What that means to you is ANY Osprey product purchased at ANY time is covered. Any product, any reason, any era - the all encompassing Osprey lifetime warranty ensures their dedication to superior design, craftsmanship and quality of their products is backed up by their actions to replace or repair a pack so it lasts a lifetime. Or two.

Here are some details.... Osprey will repair for any reason, free of charge, any damage or defect in their products, whether it was purchased back in 1974, or ordered right now from this site. If they are unable to perform a functional repair on your pack, they will happily replace it. Osprey proudly stands behind the All Mighty Guarantee, so much so that it bears the signature of company founder and head designer, Mike Pfotenhauer.

Some Osprey All Mighty Guarantee FAQs:

What do I do if my Osprey pack needs to be repaired?
If you live in the United States and need a repair done on your Osprey pack, you will first need to obtain a Return Authorization number. You can do this by reaching their Returns Department at 866-314-3130, or using the information that is provided with a new Osprey pack.

What do I do if I just need a replacement pack part like a buckle?
Give Osprey a call at 866-314-3130 and they will take care of you.

How long will it take?
You can tell Osprey you need the pack returned by a certain date when you request a Return Authorization number, and they will do their absolute best to meet that deadline.

What if my pack is super dirty and stinks?
Clean it before you send it to Osprey to get repaired. The real reason is that there is a law that says if your gear is too dirty or odiferous (smelly), Osprey is not allowed to repair it and will just return it to you.

Do I have to pay for shipping?
A little bit. You are responsible for the cost of shipping the pack to Osprey, and they will pay shipping to return the pack via UPS or FedEx. Osprey cannot be held responsible if packages get lost in transit, so make sure you get a tracking number when you ship your pack out. Also, if you use expedited shipping be sure to let Osprey know (866-314-3130). They, in turn, will give your pack priority processing and return it using a similar expedited shipping method.

Do I have to register my pack to take advantage of this incredible guarantee, and/or need to be the original owner of my Osprey pack?
No! Osprey's All Mighty Guarantee is truly ALL MIGHTY. If you own an Osprey pack that needs to be repaired they will repair or replace it.

JUST A HEADS UP: If your Osprey product is not repairable and is replaced, the original product will not be returned to you. They will try really really hard to repair your pack, but if they are unable to make a functional repair, they will replace it. For products that are no longer in production you will be contacted by Osprey to discuss replacement options.

All good answers. So what is NOT covered?
• Osprey program packs or any Osprey pack used by outdoor programs are ONLY covered under Osprey's Program Pack Warranty, NOT AMG.
• Size and/or fit issues. Make sure you buy a pack that fits. Check out the size guide on Osprey product pages for more info.
• Personal preferences like colors you don't like, style of the pack, or not enough/too much room in your pack. Check the product description, features, specifications, and size guide to make sure you are ordering the right pack for you.
• Third party Repairs or replacements. Send your Osprey pack to Osprey and Osprey only to get fixed. Easy as that. And don't try fixing things yourself.
• Cosmetic wear and tear including any reasonable aging of your pack that affects only the appearance and not the function of your pack. Be proud of those scars!
• B.A.M.G. (Before All Mighty Guarantee) Repair Work. The All Mighty Guarantee applies only to repairs requested on or after January 1, 2009.
• A Osprey Hydraulics reservoir is covered by a limited 1-year warranty, which is the reasonable lifespan of a reservoir. Pouring and storing of warm/hot or boiling water in your reservoir WILL VOID your warranty, so don't do that. Reservoirs are NOT designed to contain or handle liquids at temperature.
