Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't cover entire body / not good for below 40 I bought this bag last week and just returned it. The only positive to the tango solo is the weight and the fact that it packs down to nothing. How this is rated to 30 degrees however is a great mystery to me. This system certainly will not keep you warm in any temps below 45 degrees. It's important to note that it is not a sleeping bag, it is a quilt system (look it up if you are not familiar with how a quilt system works). The big downfall of the Tango is that it's not wide enough to come around your entire body (as most quilt systems do) and barely wide enough to tuck under the sleeping pad (and comes untucked with the slightest bit of movement). Cold air easily come through the space where the comforter meets the pad. I read other reviews where people cinched it down under the pad with shock cords. While that may help air would still easily get through the large spaces between the d loops attached to the sides of the bag and it would be restrictive (why not just buy a regular sleeping bad if you have to do this every time). I suppose part of my issue is I'm not sure I believe in the quilt system set up in general. But apart from that I still feel there were some major oversights on the engineering side of this set up if this is Nemo's answer to that call. I exchanged it for a Disco 15 which I'm hoping will be a good compromise between comfort, reasonably light weight, and staying warm. Although it's not 17 oz, I'll carry the extra lb and a half happily knowing I'll be warm at night. Do yourself a favor and go with one of their other bags. They have plenty of other great options.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good but not quite great I bought this about a year ago and have spent probably 30 or so nights in it thus far. First, I bought the version with the version with the slipcover, as this sounded like a good idea. But, the material is not very comfortable and rather sticky to skin. I no longer use it at all. Instead, I use a silk liner with the system. I simply put my pad inside the liner and then attach the quilt. This is much more comfortable to sleep on. Second, as others have noted, it can get drafty on cold nights if one moves a bit or sleeps on their side. I use rope and bungee tied to the edges wrapped under the pad to keep the quilt edges down in colder weather. This is necessary when temps are below 40, IMO. And, you definitely need some ground insulation in those lower temps as the cold seeps through the air pad otherwise. Future versions of this should take this into consideration. From 40-60 degrees, this thing is great. For temps above 60, the down is just too warm, but that is no fault of the system. Overall, this is a nice system, provided you couple it with a 25" wide pad (not 20"), that is insulated if you plan to camp in temps under 40. It would be better if there were less opportunity for cold air to seep under the sides when shifting, but bungee and paracord offer an inexpensive partial remedy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tango Solo, Slipcover & two 20R pads We were just in the Superstition Mountains in Arizona (02/23/2018) and the temp got down to 24 deg. F with some snow. This sleeping bag with pads kept us warm even at 24. Best nights sleep ever and we have been doing this for over 25 years. If you have ever used a different sleeping bag (mummy bag) - sliding off the sleeping bag in the middle of the night always occurs!. Now the pad is basically integrated into your bag and is the best design ever!.... You know what I am talking about if you have the experience. Other people in our group in the mummy bag had their feet really code - they were jealous of the Nemo setup. You will not go wrong with the Nemo Tango and supported insulated pads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't be that good for a slip? I tested this out on a 7 night trip with the nemo 25" insulated pad in apr in upstate ny woods, nights were 40s to 50s, and no precip. Night 1 slept with boxers and tshirt and attached bag hood with buttons. I shifted a couple of times at night and it did create slight openings on the side that let in cold air so I was forced to re-tuck the sides. I slept well that night except for adjustments. Night 2 - 7 I noticed on the bag that there were 2 sets of integrated micro loops on the bag equidistant from the foot box 1 a third the way up and another third the way up without any explanation for their use. So I attached 2 sets of bungy type cordage parallel to each other attached to the loops. I put the cords under the mattress and adjusted the tension to hold the sides down. The cords were 0 weight and added no negatives to the system. The quilt stayed super tucked forever more and the heat within the system increased. The buttons holding the hood never detached during the night. I found it Ultralight, compact and very roomy for a great night sleep. Used It a few more times without any issues. It's a beautiful system and high quality in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic for claustrophobics! I HATE mummy bags. I feel like I am trapped in them. After deciding to ditch the mummies, I wanted something roomy and lightweight for backpacking. I found the Tango on a backpacker forum. This was the first time I had heard of Nemo. I bit the bullet and made the purchase. This bag is super light, and love that I can hang a leg out the side of it while not compromising comfort. It did the job in the Grand Canyon with night time temps around 40. The slipcover is an added bonus and is easy to toss in the wash after a trip. Best bag I have ever slept in.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent, but lacks versatility I bought this mainly for summer, but also because I thought it might work as a backpacking quilt. I tested it out on a car camping trip where the first night temps got down to the mid-30s. I wanted to try it as light weight as possible, so I started out the night without the hood and just a t-shirt and boxers and with a mummy-shaped pad since that's what I would most likely carry backpacking. What I found was that warmth was adequate (barely) as long as I wasn't moving around, but when I turned over it would pull cold air under the edges since it wasn't wide enough to stay down or tuck under the edges of the pad to stay sealed. I'm not a big guy, either. The second night I used the hood and wore baselayers, and the temps were more moderate (low 40s), which was better, but still was prone to gapping above the tent floor and drawing in cool air. This is a nice piece and I'm looking forward to trying it in the summer, but I cannot recommend it as a 30 degree bag. With the hood it is heavier than many competitors, and without the hood it isn't wide enough to really work as a quilt. Perhaps it would be better with the 25" rectangular pad to hold it in place, but that really limits its versatility and pegs it as a car camping piece in which case it is too expensive. If there were snaps or something to help it stay in place with a narrower pad that would be a nice improvement. Recommending it really depends on what you are buying it for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing is top-class The Tango Solo and I had an intimate relationship with each other over 4 months on the AT. At first I was a little skeptical of its heat retention, but my fears were put to bed (pun intended) quick after sleeping through some seriously nasty weather in GA and NC. Not only is it as UL as it gets, it's also incredibly comfortable and I am incredibly stoked for NEMO to be making what I consider one of the best bags on the market. It's a little expensive, no doubt, but you're paying for quality here. A+

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Genius idea I love this bag, it is the smartest sleeping bag I've ever encountered. I wish it were cheaper so that I could buy more for my family.

What is the total or pack weight of this bag/system

Asked by: Chuckdd56
Hiya Chuckdd56, thanks for your question! It depends on what type of sleeping pad you use. I added the weight of a 25" inch pad to this sleeping bag and came up with 2 lb, 15 oz total. Hope this helps!
