FEATURES of the Nemo Astro Air Lite 20R Sleeping Pad

  • Ultra-light, ultra-packable and extremely comfortable, the Astro Lite pads use our ultralight Airlock Elite 20D Polyester fabric to virtually disappear into your pack
  • 3 Inch thick lateral baffles are plush and tend to support body contours better than vertical baffles because the sleeping pad resists folding around the body's longitudinal axis
  • The pillow baffle at the head end is oversized to provide extra loft under your head and prevents your camp pillow from sliding off the end of the pad
  • Unlike typical vertical baffles, lateral baffles prevent the sides of the sleeping pad from curving around your body
  • Large pillow baffle at the head end of the pad ensures that your pillow doesn't slide off in the middle of the night and gives a couple extra inches of height for supreme sleeping comfort
  • Packed size of Astro series sleeping pads in comparison to a camp stove
  • Included Accessories: Compression strap, drawstring stuff sack, repair kit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my old bones! Last summer, as I was packing gear into the car for canoe camping trip, I discovered our new rescue dog had chewed up my old inflatable sleeping I am "of an age", a comfortable pad is essential for ground sleeping. A quick scramble to the nearest outdoor store, where I selected a duplicate of the chewed one ( another brand). The great salesperson pointed me to the Nemo; it was a bit pricier, but I liked the idea of the horizontal baffles. It has worked just super! Packs nicely, lightweight for the canoe, durable, and most of all---comfortable, and permitted my elderly bones to actually get a good night's rest.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ground comfort I bought this pad for my wife in advance of a Yosemite trek to Little Yosemite Valley. Test overnight at Point Reyes National Seashore with overnight temperatures in the mid-40s and winds at 20-25 mph produced a ground chill that had her freezing even with ground cloth and tent floor under her. Extra clothes including insulated jacket in her 30 degree rated down sleeping bag produced no relief. She reported soft, comfortable bed but freezing cold underneath all night. I suspect wind was a factor but clearly the three inches of air in the mattress not an adequate insulator. Easily corrected with R5 insulated ground cloth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I used this pad for THE ENTIRE PCT (2,665 miles) Wow! It's not everyday that your gear expectations are blown away. I slept on this pad every night for 6 months (April 21st-Oct 21st). It was almost black by the time I was finished. It provided excellent comfort and insulation. My girlfriend and I used two of these pads inside a Nemo Hornet 2P tent and we had an excellent, reliable set up. DOn't over inflate the pad or the baffle made separate. Otherwise, an incredible product. Don't let the price fool you, this is a piece of equipment that will last a long long time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Deception I am coming back from a 3-months road trip in Asia, for which I had chosen one of your products: the Astro Insulated Lite 20R sleeping pad. When I had to make a decision about which sleeping mattress I should buy, I put trust in your brand and in the customers’ reviews. However, after travelling, I noticed that the sleeping pad was damaged at several different places (you can find the pictures attached). I must specify that I used the pad only 5 nights during my travel, so it stayed most of the time packed and protected in a bag. Then, I am really disappointed by the quality of this product. I cannot understand how an expensive product, that I consider having used in a normal way, can get damaged so quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Luxury item and super light! At about the size of a one liter Smart Water bottle when rolled up, this is an impressively small and luxurious sleeping pad. I slept like a rock with this pad the entire way up the PCT. It took very little effort to inflate which is always nice after a twenty mile day. Once you sleep on this pad there is no going back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Packed Small I used this for my AT thru hike and loved how compact it was. So many people had big bulky sleeping pads outside of their backpacks, while my Nemo packed small inside of mine. It was extremely comfortable- especially with the pillow! Needless to say, I slept like a baby.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from love the size I used this sleeping pad on a few sections of the Pacific Crest trail. I loved the packed up compact size. Comfy to sleep on as well. I personally did not have any issues with leaks but I did talk to a few people on the trail who had leaks with this pad at the air intake valve. But that was after some serious multiple month use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pad! I got two of these pads for my wife and I for backpacking the Smokies and the PCT this summer. Test runs in the backyard and local State Parks have been great. Very lightweight, very small packed, very comfortable, and very affordable! This pad is the best bang for the buck you're gonna find.
