The Mystery Ranch Urban Assault Pack is a 21 liter backpack for everyday use, from the city to the trails. When exploring the urban sidewalks, moving from home to work or school, an interior sleeve fits up to 15" laptops. The bag can be accessed via the 3-ZIP design, so you can grab the rain jacket you stuffed inside in a jiffy, or locate the snack you hid in there before stepping into that meeting. The 500D Cordura® fabric is crazy-durable, so tossing it underneath your desk won't damage it, and neither will a tromp through the woods. Keep small items from getting lost at the bottom of the bag by storing them within one of the two internal zippered pockets or the in lid.

Feature of the Mystery Ranch Urban Assault Pack

  • Quick 3 zip access
  • Two internal zippered accessory pockets
  • Lid pocket with key clip
  • Laptop sleeve

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great go back for travel Purchased for my wife who frequently travels to Africa on business. As checked bags are delayed well past the arrival of the passengers, Mystery Ranch really provides a well-built compact design with a great deal of storage. If I don’t get a hunting pack for Christmas, I might circle around and purchase one myself, once my wife returns from her travels in Jan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid This is a nice minimalist style day pack that will work as an everyday urban commuter thing or for hiking. The contruction and components are bomber. It will outlast most other packs as you can expect from this company. I would like there to be a hydration port as there is no good way to use a bladder even though there is a sleeve on the inside. Also, attachment points on the side would be handy for lashing a coat or something on the outside of the pack (there is webbing sewn to the underside though).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A solid everyday bag from Mystery Ranch I use the Urban Assault bag as my laptop bag to get to-and-from work. It's got a lot of things going for it that you'd expect from Mystery Ranch. The materials are solid and the manufacturing quality is stellar. The Tri-Zip design is brilliant and allows you to use the bag as a top-loader for quick access while still letting you open the whole thing up for easy packing. It's a comfortable bag, too, though I think it could be made even better in that regard (more on that in a minute). Unlike a lot of other MR bags, there are pretty decent internal organization options: a large pouch for a laptop (or hydration bladder, but not both at the same time because that's how you end up selling your bags to afford a new laptop) and a smaller pouch just below it for chargers/tools/snacks/whatever, both of which sit along the internal framesheet for stability; a zippered pocket on the lid of the bag for stashing sunglasses and other stuff; and two small zipped pockets along the inside flaps of the bag (to either side of the central zipper). A couple things keep it from being a five-star bag for me. The biggest are the shoulder straps. They are very narrow. If you look at the ASAP (the bag this one was likely patterned from), you can see the difference. It's a comfortable enough bag for light duty, but the straps don't feel wide or rigid enough for heavier loads. The inclusion of Mystery Ranch's phenomenal Futura harness (or the similar harnesses you're finding on bags like the Coulee 25) would make this thing perfect, but would also jack the price up accordingly. The only other minor thing I'd like to see on this bag would be some side pockets for water bottles. That said, this is a killer bag for moving stuff around the city. You get a lot of what makes bags like the ASAP so good, without the copious MOLLE webbing, making this a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Hi. I saw different pictures of this bag, and sometimes there is a small difference - 1" webbing loop on the both sides of back panel. Here it is absent, but how about a real units in a store? It is for MR "transporter tail", i think...

Asked by: Evol
Hiya Evol, thanks for your question! There are 4 loops of webbing on the back of the pack. You can see two loops on the side view of the pack and there is one loop sticking out on the right side of the back view photo. We have the same photo as the Mystery Ranch website. Hope this helps!
