Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flimsy material, the wind goes right through I am a backpacker and ordered this jacket because it is compressible and has a high down count (850+ fill). I knew I would return this jacket the moment I opened the package: it is lightweight but the material itself was so thin and flimsy that the wind passed right through. The down count may be 850+ but whoever sewed this jacket together must have only used 3 or 4 feathers for the whole thing. ,,,,I wore this jacket outside on a 35 degree day with a light wind. Both the cold and the wind went right through this thing. For $200, I expect to stay reasonably warm. I love ya, Moosejaw, but this product has got to go back for something that can do the job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice jacket This jacket is pretty much exactly what I wanted- the color I got, blue, is really nice, and it fits me well, except that the sleeves are very long. That may just be me though. It's very warm for how light it is. My main problem with the jacket is all the feathers that poke out. I haven't been very hard on this jacket, but I do wear it on a regular basis, and there are always little feathers on the outside. Besides that, this jacket is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great but... I bought this intending for it to be one of my only layers this winter, and it's definitely more of a mid layer. If I wasn't trying to only make one down purchase this year, I would have kept it. It's a great fit, and good colors. Maybe in the future I'll be able to purchase again! For reference, I'm 5'9" and pretty athletic, I bought a large and was able to fit a sweatshirt underneath. I just wish it was more wind resistant!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very lightweight, but WARM! My stylish 21-yr old daughter loves the look and the fit. It's well made, and gray/lavender color combo is super attractive. Plus Mountain Hardwear's price was lower than stores and elsewhere on the internet. Very satisfied!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the warmth I bought this jacket recently for the upcoming winter months and I love it! The lightweight feature was the biggest draw as well as the amount of warmth it has being so lightweight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable, super lightweight, and warm This jacket is lighter than I expected it to be, but warm for it's size. True to fit. I am 5'6" and 125 pounds and the small fits perfectly. The arm length is great -- usually jacket sleeves run short on my long arms, but these sleeves are just right. I was comfortably warm walking outside yesterday in this jacket, and it was 45 degrees and drizzly. Repelled water well. Happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits great. Super warm and light weight. I bough this for my wife who is super hard to shop for. Right out of the box she loved the feel of the material. The fit is slightly athletic. Super light weight and easy to pack. She wears it down to about 20 degrees before she layers up.

Can you please tell me what the width of the small and medium sizes of the jackets is, from armpit to armpit, when laid flat? Also, what the length of the sleeve is from armpit to cuff?

Asked by: Marty
Hey Marty , Thanks for the question. I'm glad to help. The Mountain Hardwear Women's Nitrous Down Jacket in small is 18 inches from armpit to armpit, and its sleeve length is 23 inches. Respectively, the medium is 20 inches from armpit to armpit, and the sleeve length is 23.5 inches. I hope this helps.
