Rated 5 out of 5 by from High and Dry Worn this jacket during two rain storms and stayed completely dry. Great jacket that protects from both the wind and rain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Lightweight Shell Purchased this jacket nearly a year ago. The Ion's waterproofing has held up well (only wear occasionally so haven't need to wash yet). May need to reapply DWR in the future. Very minimalist, only two pockets, yet functional. The jacket definitely breathes while repelling wind/water. Was told by sales person that the DryQ? lining, which allows the breathebability, does have a life and that I should expect a decrease in performance over the years. 1 year in and I've yet to notice any performance decrease. Obviously comparable to the Patagonia Torrentshell. I would recommend this over the Torrentshell as the zipper system is significantly better for roughly the same price. Hood adjusters are concealed well (one on either side of the neck area). Would have liked to see a single adjustment on the back of the hood as my Arc'teryx jackets have. Overall, excellent buy for the price, quality, form, and function.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rain jacket Great quality jacket from Mountain Hardware. It has a cool texture to it and feels better quality than most other light weight jackets. Have only worn it once in a light rain but can tell this jacket is going to hold up. With the pit zips and breathable material it's a perfect hiking jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Minimal Jacket with Great Performance I bought this jacket looking for a simple, quality rain and wind shell. I have plenty of good base and mid-layer clothing, so just needed an inexpensive, quality shell. This jacket certainly fit the bill. It's handy for a quick run to get the newspaper in the rain or to keep the wind off on a cold hike. I'm a big Mountain Hardwear fan and this jacket didn't let me down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nicely done I bought this for my boyfriend and he totally loves it. It's breathable and has vents in the arm pit area and the hood keeps the water out of your face.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy Bought this jacket a couple weeks ago and just got to use it recently. This jacket is definately waterproof even down to the zippers. Mountain Hardwear did a great job at letting the interior breath so the inside doesn't get humid, while not compromising the waterproofing on the exterior. Overall it is a great purchase for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket Bought this jacket for a recent trip to Alaska and it was the right choice. Performed exactly as advertised and looked great. Compared to other big name jackets I've owned I felt this was built really well with excellent materials. Performs equally as well for an everyday rain jacket in the city.
