Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievably Warm; Well Built; Big but Compressable; Arguably largish for expedition standards, but maybe not as the 800 fill goose down gets out of the way quick via compression and the warmth to weight ratio is incredibly high. Hood is effectively insulated but could be deeper. Parka is ridiculously warm, well built, and light weight for what your getting in big time insulating warmth. One of the few parkas available where one can be at rest in sub zero weather and remain warm. May be the warmest parka available period for the price, and one of the warmest made short of a $1,200 Canada Goose Snow Mantra. I am 6'1" 185 Lbs. with larger shoulders, and a Large fit me perfectly with room for layering, although layering is generally unnecessary. I bought the gray/black.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm Parka I bough this about a week ago after much internet reasearch. I have always had good luck with Mountain Hardwear items. I bought this jacket for a hike to Mt Everest base camp. The trip is early next year. I am 6-1 and weigh 185. I always buy jackets in large. This jacket runs very large and I returned it for a medium which fits well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from overly large this jacket is a little too bulky for actual expedition standards...although it would be fine in an urban environment when its -10.

I am 6'2" 265 with broad shoulders 51" chest and normally wear an xxl in a parka, shouldI go with an xxl or xll in this jacket as I've heard it runs large on sizing. I want to be able to put a light layer underneath , nothing too thick , Thanks, Chris

Asked by: Chris249
Hey Chris! Thanks for the question. The Men's Absolute Zero Parka has a "Standard' fit. So its not too tight, and not too loose. It was designed to fit over base and or mid-layers. Based solely on your chest measurements, you would be an XXL. I have heard of other customers sizing down, but I worry that will be too tight in the shoulders for you. I hope this helps a little!
