Rated 4 out of 5 by from awesome training board that's easy on the hands i loved this training board. why do i say 'loved"? well, when i moved out of my old apt, i tried to get it down and stripped the screws heads holding it on. i had to leave and drive cross-country that day so i didn't have time to drill out the screws and take it down. so now someone else is enjoying it. anyway... it's a lot easier on the hands than the non-wood version. this is especially important if you are climbing in a gym often and use the days off to let your hands heal. you want to do some training in between sessions and the last thing you want to do is tear up your hands more. this board allows you to!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from From aesthetics to functionality - this board is great I'm all about this product for a two main reasons. The unfinished wood not only looks fantastic (I am actually excited to hang this where other people will be able to see it), but it also provides a better-than-plastic working surface that doesn't tear my hands up as I've experienced with the plastic training boards. ,,,,Being the smaller of the natural wood boards from metolius, this board does lack some of the shallower finger pockets and only has a single slopper type between the jugs. However it is still a fantastic starting board for in between gym/crag visits and for beginners.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice good looking device for training My friend bought this item a month ago. As soon as it is somewhat good lookinng he had no problems to mount it in their appartment (i mean his wife was not against). Since then i've tried it several times while visiting them. Everytime fillings were wery nice. It was something i wanted to youch more and more/,,Pros: beuty, nice for hands,,Cons: actually made of bricks, that could not be seen when looking through the advertising.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All of your friends will want one. Love this beautifully crafted training board. It has space on the top back to place hands for regular pull ups, deep grips, and is just so well thought out! I was hesitant to get this compact size, thinking that the larger one would offer more, but this still offers a large enough variety of challenges. I recommend paying a little extra for a wooden board...unless you're hanging it in a closet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's great to have a woody I've only had it for a brief time but I'm extremely pleased. The unfinished wood texture is much more comfortable than that of their plastic holds and it looks nice to boot as opposed to looking like something out of a cartoon as a reviewer elsewhere described the appearance of most hangboards. I have no doubt that with regular use I'll be mad strong before I know it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beginner climbers - You will not regret buying this I bought this about eight months back, when I had just started bouldering in a gym. I was finding it tough to go to the gym every other day, and didn't want to leave my fingers untrained/lazy in the long gaps. I have used the synthetic material boards in the gym, and this one feels amazingly better than those. This wooden board looks beautiful and is gentler on your fingers as well. The exercises I have been doing on these include the 10 minute workout (search for Audrey's 10 minute Fingerboard workout) and pyramid workout, in which you hang yourself from the board for 4-6-8-10-8-6-4 seconds with a 5 second gap in between each hang (change holds for the next set). This board does not have all the variety of holds you can find on a large board (there's no pinch, sloper is only in the middle, and obviously the holds are not placed wide apart due to the small size). However, this is a great one for newbies, and you will definitely see improvement in your finger strength if you keep at it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely well made, beautiful, functional I was afraid the smaller one would limit the fun. Not the case at all. This thing is a piece of art, and EVERYONE that walks by the thing just absolutely has to hang on it. I want two more for adjacent doorways. Just imagine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great and looks really cool above your door This thing is perfect for building your strength when you have some downtime, not to mention a piece of artwork. The small size is great for a variety of places, while still offering plenty of different holds.

Are mounting screws included with the purchase?

Asked by: Okiclimber
Hiya, thanks for your question! No, the screws are not included with this Training Board. You will need 8 Decking screws: #9 x 3” and a Metolius Back Board or 3⁄4” plywood mounting board. You can find the back board here: Hope this helps!

Is there a weight limit on this board?

Asked by: Bluewire
Hey there, There is not a weight limit for this board, but to ensure maximum durability you want to mount this well, using solid, thick screws.
