Rated 5 out of 5 by from Burly *ss gloves Yeah, that's the stuff. Sizes surprised me a bit. I've got really average sized man hands, but M was too small, should've gone with XL. Really su*ks because I'd love to use these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WAY BETTER THAN EXPECTED I bought these about about a month ago. I'm a climbing instructor, and this is the best gear purchase I've made. They're 100% leather. they're soft, but extremely durable and comfortable. I bought a small worried they might not fit, but they fit just fine. Love these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Burly enough for big walls or a day at the crag! I've used these gloves for a few years now interspersed with a few others' (Petzl, PMI, & BD). -------------------- They have the longest break in time for certain and you will want to get a pair you think are going to fit snugly, as they will get larger and morph like any leather glove. I have pretty small sausagey hands, so the small pair is what I struggled with for a few weeks before they broke in (~7-10 pitches worth of wall climbing practice?). -------------------- I originally got them for big walls in Yosemite, and have taken the same pair up several. Though after using them for just about everything, I am hooked. They work great as belay/rappel gloves in dry conditions and the dexterity they offer by exposing the fingers is essential yet still protective enough. Like any leather product, they get a bit slippery and absorptive when wet...I've taken them down several canyons in Zion and elsewhere, but I still use them because they're burly and I don't feel unsafe when they do get wet. I might be a bit concerned belaying a leader if they were wet...dry they are killer belay gloves. I've even used them for woodworking and moving big, heavy things. -------------------- My pair has holes on all sides and needs to be replaced, but that was after (literally) miles of aid climbing, and more miles descending routes or canyoneering. I beat the tar out of them and they never cracked or anything like that. The holes are from rope friction, but even after all that I still don't burn my hands on fast rappels. The stitching resisted coming undone until the very last threads were worn down by friction... -------------------- P.S. They will start to smell on you if you're not careful. I wasn't careful. But hey, at least no one else will want to take them from you when you rave about how awesome they are. -------------------- TLDR: Excellent all around protective climbing glove. Longer break in worth it. Super burly, super comfy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, but sizing was wrong Great product. Feels bomber while belaying and rappelling. Very happy with the product except for sizing. I was right on the line between a small and a medium. I chose to go with the small and I regret it. Luckily it fits my gf's hands perfectly and I ordered a medium for myself.,,,,Only dislike...It took a long time to soften up and get comfortable. I used a baseball glove trick of wrapping it up tight with rubber bands.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The quality is worth the price I prefer using fingerless gloves when belaying/rappelling. I feel like I have more control of the rope and dont run the risk of rope burn, I also prefer the functionality of fingerless. I would use framers or weightlifting gloves, but would wear through a couple pairs a season. I broke down and spent the extra cash on these puppies and could not be happier. The materials are thick and durable and will take more beatings then my cheaper substitutes. Overall it is well worth the price to have a good durable pair of gloves.
