Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Boots I just recently purchased the Merrell Moab Waterproof boot. It's been snowing and raining here for days and my feet are dry, besides the sweat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buying an additional pair! I purchased my 1st pair of these boots over a yr ago to go hiking & I absolutely love them! I bought them right before we headed up to the mountains so, I was nervous that they wouldn't be broke-in. I was wrong! We hiked several miles & it was like I was wearing my favorite pair of tennis shoes. No blisters, no rubbing...nothing but perfection. A few months later I took them elk hunting & again, they held-up great. We had A LOT of snow that year; my feet never got wet. Since then, I've worn them deer hunting & in town as rain boots. They are so comfortable & have held up so well that, I purchased a 2nd pair! My 1st pair will be worn as work & hunting boots; the 2nd pair for casual wear around town during winter months. The color is more feminine than some of the other brown/neutral colors & they pair well with jeans. It's rare for me to find something I like so much, that I'm willing to spend another $100+ dollars for the exact same thing but, these boots are it. Buy them!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sooooo comfortable! Would recommend these to anyone looking for some new hiking boots! My sister had this same style and told me to get them before our trip out to Yellowstone and the Tetons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We Will See Just got a pair of these and so far they are the most comfortable hiking boot that I have worn. Before I bought these I looked at several more expensive pairs of boots but most did not fit as well or didn't feel as comfortable. Great traction on everything I have tried them on so far. Just hope they hold up after reading one of the other reviews. I guess for the price though you could buy a second pair for the price of some of the other boots out there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent for Casual Hiking, Not Built To Last I bought these boots to use for hiking and archaeological field work based on user reviews and friend recommendations. Unfortunately, these boots fell short of my high expectations after only a month and a half of wear. ,,,,Initially they were comfortable right out of the box, stylish, and had good support. They did prove to be water resistant in the first few weeks of wear if not submerged. When wet, however, these boots are near-impossible to dry out completely, and this may have led to the reduced "waterproof" quality with further wear. ,,,,My main complaint was with the sole--I expected a lot with the brand, but the soles were completely worn down within 2 months. I rarely wore them on concrete or asphalt--strictly trails/dirt/grass/ etc--and couldn't understand why they deteriorated so quickly. The insole lost its initial comfort about the same time, and my feet began to hurt while wearing these. ,,,,Overall, okay if you stick to trails and clear areas--off road not recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent boots for Hiking I wore these around Estes Park in the Rockies. It was snowing and cold, yet my feet stayed warm, dry, and didn't slip at all. They take very little time to break in, and I have yet to get a single blister from them.,,,,The only issue that is that the laces are particularly prone to come undone, so I would suggest replacing them with your favorite, staying-tied type.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wide feet and no blisters! I got these for Christmas this year for backpacking in Patagonia. I wore them all week while hiking in Torres del Paine with no problems. It was super rainy so they did get wet after hiking for a few hours but most of the time they were dry. I wore your typically hiking wool socks and didn't get a blister all week. By the end my feet were rather sore but I have a feeling that had more to do with how much we had hiked. They fit well, laced up right, and had pretty good support. they are a great show if you want some hiking boots but don't want them to completely encase your ankle these are the boots for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect comfort for normal to wide feet and lots of miles! Comfy comfy comfy! My feet are a bit wider than the norm, and need extra space for doubling up on socks (which always helps prevent blisters and hot spots). Merrell is wonderful for accommodating these needs. These boots are AMAZING. They're padded in all the right places and required minimal break-in time. After 2 years and LOTS of hard miles (I work in the National Parks so am literally always on trail), these babies are still waterproof without any help from me and the Vibram sole is hanging tight. If you need waterprooof, go with the mid because it will be that much more effective at keeping water and *splash* out. Being waterproof, they're less breathable than non-wtpf. However, I've used them in southern CA summers in the Sierra Nevada (read: hot/dry!) and despite a little extra heat in the feet, these still perform really well. For as much as they keep my feet dry in wet, they allow decent breathing during hot summers. This is probably my favorite boot. Up 1/2 size for socks.
