Rated 5 out of 5 by from i don't wear low cut boots often, but when I do, I choose Merell Moab's I bought some Asolo Men's Fugitive GTX boots for mountaineering a while back, and as awesome as they are, when you're wearing shorts and hiking with your girlfriend on an easy trail, you don't want to look like an overdressed goober so I bought these. They're great, good arch support, perfect fit (I'm normally a size 10 but I bought an 11 as the 10 was a little tight). They hold up well to water too and don't leave my feet sore even on 10+ mile hikes. I'm only a casual user of these as I'm normally doing more technical hikes with my asolo's for the ankle support but I doubt my review would change even after more extended use of these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, Comfortable Hiker Without the Bulk of Boots If you want a light-weight, durable hiker that gives the sturdy feeling of a boot without the bulk, this is your shoe. I got these hikers before a trip to Alaska this summer, and I wore them daily both on that trip and a backpacking trip to Idaho. The shoes performed excellently in all conditions. They gripped on rocks, they tread well on dirt, and they stayed dry in the rain. I would highly recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a hybrid of sorts between sneakers and hiking boots. I have enjoyed them immensely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be better These are great. Got them for Christmas a couple years ago. They are very comfortable. My favorite part is the waterproofing. I can stand in a little stream and as long as the water isn't going over the shoes, it's not getting in. They also still look like new. I can go through some pretty nasty conditions, and I'll walk through a stream or snow or whatever and they'll look like I just pulled them out of the box. I don't see them falling apart or anything soon, but if they do, I will get another pair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice all around hiking shoe I used these shoes for almost 2 and 1/2 years and they worked great. They did a great job as far as being waterproof, the traction was good, and they were comfortable. I feel like my feet stayed cooler in these than other water proof products ive tried. I should have replaced them sooner however because as they wore down the insole was super thin and I did have some trouble with blisters. All in all they are a solid product as I would expect from Merrell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only Merrell for Hard to please flat feet This is my fourth pair of Merrells. Low and 3/4 hikers, waterproof and not. I searched for years for the "right" shoe for my flat, size 12 feet, and never found a solution until Merrell. I still run thermal form insoles. The Vibram soles are outstanding. I wear for work, hiking, biking and casual. I found the wides are best for me because they seem to run a bit narrow for bigger feet. Still haven't wore my first pair out after three years. The Best.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for duck weather! I have been using these for those times when the weather doesn't want to cooperate with scheduled plans....i.e. raining on the parade. They can be a little warm in the summer months tho. But these keep the tootsies very dry (unless you wear them swimming for an extended period of time). Comfortable, durable and somewhat stylish, if I may say so. Sizing is spot on too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Value and Comfortable! A bit stiff at first, but feels great after a couple good wear-in sessions. Definitely waterproof so far - although there are a few strings that are popping out by seams, it doesn't seem to be affecting the shoe at all. Really comfortable and it is a pretty good looking shoe as well. If anything about the size, they might run a bit long. I usually have to go a size bigger due to wide feet, but my toes don't quite reach the front of these shoes, creating some extra bend when I step.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great All Around I bought a pair of these so that I could comfortably switch between day hikes and walking around downtown on a vacation a few years ago, rather than wearing my mid-height boots all day. They proved to be a good general purpose shoe, waterproof and comfortable, and I've been wearing them ever since that trip as my daily shoes as well as for single day hikes. I've been through three pairs and I'll be buying one last pair before they're discontinued soon.
