The Marmot Women's Variant Hoody is a hybrid hoody for warmth and breathability while hiking and climbing. Cool, mild weather demands a combination of materials to help keep you comfortable, and the Variant Hoody comes in to provide the best of both worlds. To combat the cold coming at you, the front of the jacket is a nylon ripstop shell with Thermal R insulation packed inside. It is also treated with a durable water repellent finish, so a light rain or snow will bead up on the fabric surface, instead of soaking in. The rest of the jacket is made with Polartec Power Stretch Pro to keep you warm, but allow your body to breathe at the same time. Like the rest of the jacket, the hoody is stretchy so it can be pulled over your head, with an elastic binding to prevent it from blowing off mid-climb. Snacks are kept on-hand in the zippered hip pockets. Hard to say no to a quick energy boost.
So sorry, but only 4 items are allowed for comparison, so we're comparing the first 4. I blame the gnomes and so should you.
