Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm For a light jacket, kept me warm and protected me from the wind. Used it while going up for the sunrise and sunset at Haleakala where temperatures were in the low 40s with a wind chill. Also wore the Marmot Scree pants and along with the jacket, cold did not bother me at all. Looking forward to using the Leadville jacket in the winter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Breathable & water-resistant I bought this jacket a month ago to take on an 11 mile hike where we knew we'd encounter rain but the temperature was above 60 degrees. It stayed dry during a consistent mist/light rain and was still breathable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nearly perfect. I have owned a Marmot Leadville jacket for one month and like it so much that I have bought two more. This is the first soft shell jacket that I have ever enjoyed wearing. Over the years, I have tried on other soft shells, even bought a few, but found them oppressively heavy, sometimes stiff, always rubbery and sweat-inducing. Those soft shells gave the impression of originating as old car tires that morphed into garment shape. Not so with the Leadville jacket. It is light, flexible, and truly breathes. The Leadville sheds rain and blocks all but the stiffest winds. It has two outer hand pockets and one upper arm pocket that zip, as well as an interior left chest zip pocket for cell phones or wallets. There is a cinch cord at the hem to keep wind from invading from below, and Velcro closures at the wrists. I am 5'3" tall and weigh 110 pounds. At first I purchased a size small in the Leadville, my usual size. The body and shoulders fit fine. But the arm holes felt tight and seemed to be set too high on the jacket. The sleeves were borderline too narrow. I exchanged the small for a medium, which solves the sleeve and armhole tightness and allows for layering underneath, without sacrificing the feminine form-fitting appearance of the jacket. My first Leadville is black. It has become my go-to outer layer for brisk winter walks. I ordered two more Leadville jackets in shades of blue and green, both very nice colors. I highly recommend the Marmot Leadville jacket. I think it was worth the price, considering its excellent features. It launders nicely, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cross-country Skiing I bought this jacket while in the US (Texas) visiting relatives. I live in Siberia and am an avid cross-country skier. I was looking for clothing specifically for nordic skiing, but being in Texas and in the US (not a big nordic sport country), I did not find anything but this jacket. I LOVE IT!!!! If it is -18 C or +2 is warm and comfortable. On 'good' nordic trails, there are plenty of hills and the biggest problem is freezing on the downhills when it is 'really' cold out. This JACKET is WONDERFUL. I recently bought a pretty nordic jacket (famous nordic skiing brand) to go with my white pants, but was so disappointed. I was cold and the jacket was amazingly 'damp' when I finished skiing. My Marmot jacket is always dry....can't figure that one out. I now realise how GREAT THIS JACKET is for skiing!
