Marmot Down Defender

Marmot Down Defender
Marmot Down Defender helps prevent down from clumping when exposed to water or moisture. This allows it to keep its loft, which equates to greater insulation. Nothing will stop the specially treated, highly water-resistant down from trapping warm air next to your body.

Marmot DriClime

Marmot DriClime
Marmot DriClime is a mesh composed of two different denier yarns which work together to maximize breathability, prevent condensation and wick moisture. This means you can be as active as you want in the outdoors and remain dry and comfortable.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Love this jacket! Its so comfortable and my broad shoulder and strong arms can move freely. Plus its cute and figure hugging-in a good way. Wish I could find it in the gator color-that one looks gorgeous. I got black but next year if there is good deep jewel tone green or red or purple I may get another!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Returning jacket My daughter did not like the jacket! It seemed different in the advertisement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket Bought this jacket for ski season. It is true to size, the sleeves are long enough (my arms are on the long side). I love the color - looking forward to a great, warm winter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely, Practical Jacket I thought it would fit when I ordered it, but the arms were too long and the chest and shoulders too tight, so I sadly returned it. It is beautifully made, is wind and water resistant, and a gorgeous burgundy color. I liked everything but the way it fit me, and that is very important. If it fits you, you'll enjoy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfectly cozy! After another outdoor clothing company "recycled" my favorite down hoody when I sent it in for a new zipper, and then didn't have any replacements available I decided to switch teams. My only other Marmot product is a Precip Jacket from 2005 that's never let me down and I'm happy to say that this Guides Down Hoody has exceeded my expectations so far! It's flattering while still being roomy enough to layer. The length is great, just grazing the hips and the extra bit in the back prevents drafts from sneaking in while sitting. It also has fleece lined pockets, which was a bonus surprise! The inside pocket is super roomy, one of those that you slip money in and find it months later. And I get compliments on the green "Gator" color all the time. And the sleeves are nice and long! For fit, I'm 5'4", an athletically curvy 130lbs and the medium is sufficiently roomy with plenty of space around the hips. A small probably would have fit fine too though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect down hooded jacket! I received this hoodie to test out during my volunteering with search and rescue. I needed a packable, durable, weather-proof, WARM down for those summit days and cold mornings and evenings on the trail in Colorado. The Guides Down Hoody is nothing short of perfect! The Highlights: -Packs into it's own pocket for convenience -Hood is snug enough/small enough to STAY on - fits over my helmet (albeit it tightly) -Loft is PERFECT; insulation is adequate for temps bordering 0F if worn with the right layers underneath -Warm fleece-lined pockets keep ungloved hands toasty -FITS! The sizing is spot on for me (ordered XS, I'm 5'1" and 110 lbs) -Looks stylish enough to wear off the trail -Makes an excellent pillow when bundled up into the hood of your sleeping bag (check out the Women's Trestles 15) -Doesn't feel bulky or awkward The only downside (which is ultimately my fault) is it is very sensitive to loose, flying embers from the campfire. Unlike some jackets with a thicker outer layer, you can't brush a flaming ember off - I have a few subsequent holes from this. Stay away from the campfire and you'll be fine. Overall, an awesome hooded down that keeps you toasty and comfortable in uncomfortable weather!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quality design, needs more down insulation. I own a men's guide down hoody purchased ca. 2012 and it's amazing, super warm and comfortable. I bought a womens guide hoody for my wife and was disappointed with the amount of down in the baffles. It's significantly less than my older jacket and therefore less warm. She loves the jacket so win as a gift, but I'm not sold 100% that this era of coat lives up to slightly older versions in quality if insulation and how it functions in really cold weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Is there an oven in here...bring on the cold. I just bought this jacket a few weeks ago. I live in NJ. It just got down to 32 degrees with wind. This jacket is perfect. Very warm. I have been searching for a warm jacket with a hood. Love it. Can't wait for snow now.
