The Marmot Men's Mountain Down Jacket is a down parka for warmth while exploring mountains or skiing the backcountry. The waterproof shell protects the 700 fill power down, for snow and rain protection with plenty of warmth. The shell is MemBrain 10, with 2-layer construction and nylon ripstop for durability. The hood is attached and fits over helmets for when you're on the mountain, while the powder skirt is removable for off-mountain or non-skiing days. The exterior zipper pockets are placed higher up, staying out of the way of a pack or harness, while the interior pocket is a mesh drop-in, for gloves, hats, or mittens. Are you a mitten person or glove person? The Mountain Down jacket will like you either way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional comfort and thermal protection I purchased this jacket to use in Russia and Kazhkstan in support of the recent 45S rocket launch to the International Space Station. Temps ranged from 0-23 deg F, with wind gusts on the steppes to 30+ knots. It provided excellent cold and wind protection. In many instances it was too warm. The jacket is very compressible and light, which was a definite plus for travel. The environment was dry so I can't comment on how it would have done in rain or snow. The hood was a little overbearing but very comfortable. Overall, an excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WARM! I bought myself a Mountain Down Jacket at the end of the season in 2011 (April). It has stood up like a champ through the various winter conditions I've thrown at it, from 0C in Toronto to -25C in Edmonton and -40C in Ottawa and everything in between. I always feel "just right" temperature-wise, regardless of temperature!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I feel guilty... for feeling so warm! Now I know why people that wear Marmot jackets always have a smile on their face in the bitter cold. I received the coat during the cold spell in NYC. I swear, all I had on was a tee-shirt and a turtle neck and I was warm and toasty! The hood is awesome too! didn't even need a scarf. Buy this coat and smile, smile smile!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fabulous, snug coat! I bought my three quarter Marmot coat last winter and it still looks fantastic despite the fact that I wore it everyday!. It is so warm and snug. I love everything about it - the design, all the pockets (with zips) and the fact that it looks stylish and luxurious. People often stop me and say what a great coat and ask where I bought it. For work I'm inside and outside a lot - it's easy to slip on, lightweight and instantly warm, wind and rain proof. They are more expensive than the regular hight street coat but you should spoil yourself because it's a great investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For those who want the one and only best fleece pullover for active sports activities, this this it! This is my first Patagonia activewear purchase and I am now a convert to the brand. The quality of construction and little design details like the zipper welting are thoughtful and first rate, as is the R1 material for breathable warmth. While the fit is slim, the strategically placed stretch material and panel construction easily make this the best feeling and wearable pullover I have. The hoody is a real plus for those occassions when you need to cover up, plus it really looks cool just hanging off the back. So its time to retire some of my other pullovers, as nothing else compares.
