The Marmot Men's Mountain Down Jacket is a down parka for warmth while exploring mountains or skiing the backcountry. The waterproof shell protects the 700 fill power down, for snow and rain protection with plenty of warmth. The shell is MemBrain 10, with 2-layer construction and nylon ripstop for durability. The hood is attached and fits over helmets for when you're on the mountain, while the powder skirt is removable for off-mountain or non-skiing days. The exterior zipper pockets are placed higher up, staying out of the way of a pack or harness, while the interior pocket is a mesh drop-in, for gloves, hats, or mittens. Are you a mitten person or glove person? The Mountain Down jacket will like you either way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Warm!! I brought this jacket for my best friend and he's incredible happy, it's really water proof and is super warm. He's planning on using it on his next skying trip and I'm sure he won't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm and water proof Bought and returned a few jackets before settling on this one. Warm, waterproof and looks good. Love the internal apron/snaps/strings that enable me to cinch the coat closer to my body. If I were creating a perfect jacket, I'd make it a little slimmer (for my frame) and make the very large pockets zip in the opposite direction (since if open, cold air can get in). Otherwise a great product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Maybe for a California "winter"....? Good cut and materials. Completely inadequate insulation for any real winter or mountain conditions-especially in arms where fill is extremely thin even for moderate winters. This range of Marmot down jackets used to be one of the warmest on market.... this one unfortunately needs a complete reboot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Super warm !! Light and Super warm !! This is exactly what i was looking for. The 700 fill power down creates lightweight, incredibly warm comfort. Lots of space to carry gloves and highly compressible, easy to carry . keeps me warm in Toronto extreme winters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very warm and doesn't look too puffy Pros: (1): warmth: this jacket is very warm; wearing it with a T-shirt and a long sleeve fleece pullover will be able to withstand 10F temperature on a windy day; it will definitely keep you warm for new york winters; (2): hood: the hood is not detachable and is well insulated; many jackets with detachable hood does not have enough insulation around the neck but this one doesn't suffer that problem; you do not need scarves with this jacket; (3): roomy: the jacket doesn't look very puffy but is actually pretty roomy; it's very easy to fit in another down jacket for the extremely code days; cons: (1): the hand warmer pocket is too large; it would be better to make it smaller (OR change the zipper to open from the bottom ) so that it doesn't look weird when the hand warmer pocket is kept open. Overall this is an excellent jacket; much warmer than my other (way more expensive) arcteryx jackets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent - As expected from Marmot Exactly as described. My last Marmot Mountain Jacket has lasted over 30 years. It's still good, but does not have a hood. The hood on the new one is very comfortable. The powder cuff is comfortable. Overall, excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made and warm!! I bought this cost about a month ago. I was impressed with the quality of the material and stitching. The sizing was accurate. This coat is warm, even in very cold and windy conditions. It also is very light. Probably the best winter coat I have ever purchased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional comfort and thermal protection I purchased this jacket to use in Russia and Kazhkstan in support of the recent 45S rocket launch to the International Space Station. Temps ranged from 0-23 deg F, with wind gusts on the steppes to 30+ knots. It provided excellent cold and wind protection. In many instances it was too warm. The jacket is very compressible and light, which was a definite plus for travel. The environment was dry so I can't comment on how it would have done in rain or snow. The hood was a little overbearing but very comfortable. Overall, an excellent product.
