The Marmot Men's Estes Hoody is a soft shell for hiking and climbing. The Marmot M3 Softshell fabric provides a stretchy, wind-resistant, water repellent and breathable layer of protection when getting out into nature. Whether you're hiking your local trails for hours or heading to a cool new bouldering stop, the Estes has an adjustable hood to shield your head from a mild rain. Coupled with Angel-Wing Movement™, you can climb with it on and it'll move when you move, without living the hem as you reach to the next hand hold. The lifted Pack Pockets™ allow access even when you're wearing a pack or harness and the zippered chest pocket adds additional small-item space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from breathable, elastic and resistant. The perfect match to climb wearing it. It fits perfectly movements and rubbing up very well with the rock, also very interesting for ice climbing in convinación with other garments. also for ski touring in good weather. its weak point is the weight, so ideal for activities leading her on.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Baggy! Got this because I owned the discontinued Orion pants, which is the same fabric, which I love for its breathability. I am 193 cm and 85 kg, and size large is really baggy, no where near an athletic fit. I should have got the medium. The side pockets run all the way down to the bottom of the jacket, so sure they are accessible with backpack, but in practice the stuff in your pockets will be just where you don't want them when tightening the backpack's waist belt. I will not use the side pockets as pockets, only as vents. There's a lot of mesh in the front of the jacket, making it kind of semi-insulated. I expected a shell. The zipper gets caught in the flap behind it every time I'm putting the jacket on. The fabric bulges is awkward ways. It's also heavier than I imagined.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Marmot discovery Never before I owned any Marmot gear and I decided to check a first time, entering with this garment..., incredible fitting and fabric (M3), really perfect from Spring to Autumn, I am 1,93 cm and 90 kgs, and L size is just perfect, with length enough in the sleeves and the back (will cover you in very different situations, even with backpacks), my advice is, test it..., very, very good!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice fit Somewhat of an athletic fit through the middle, not baggy like a lot of mens' large items. Nicely constructed, nice colors. I like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Straight A game! This has been the best soft-shell I have ever owned.  So comfortable and light, yet warm and perfect amount of heavy for my day hikes or even overnighters.  Love the color complexes'.  I have owned this for almost 2 years now and still loving it.  Just bought my second one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent M3 soft shell hoody! Wanted something a little lighter for warmer temperatures 50+ for hiking and running. I found it in the Estes Hoody. A great companion to the Marmot ROM jacket. Both are excellent products!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You're gonna find plenty of uses for this jacket. If you haven't felt the m3 material from Marmot used to make this jacket, you need to. Get in your car, drive somewhere, and feel it.,,,,It's super lightweight, comfortable, has a bit of stretch to it, but somehow seems pretty durable. Water and wind resistance are more than you could expect from something like this.,,,,I've worn it this winter with a thin wool jacket and a t-shirt underneath in temps around freezing and it's been way more comfortable to use around town than bulky jackets. RIP, winter coat.,,,,But, what I'm really excited about is getting a chance to use this for climbing or general outdoor use once the end of winter hits. Seems perfect for activities you could use long sleeves for, but would prefer not to drown in sweat.,,,,Cut is good, 6' 160lb and a medium is great. I dig the back of this jacket swooping down a bit and who doesn't love having a hood? -which is a good hood, I might add.
