The MSR Mutha Hubba NX Tent is a backpacking tent for hitting the trail with a group of three. Or maybe you like plenty of space and it's just you and one other. However you hike the backcountry, the 4lbs, 9oz weight keeps your pack light. The two doors allow a quick escape in the middle of the night and the vestibule protects gear in foul weather. When inside, you'll have enough headroom to sit up and hang with your pals and enough space to change and get ready in the morning. A combination of fabric and mesh give the privacy needed in more crowed sites while still allowing cool breezes to flow through.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seriously Most Awesomest Tent I'm loving the MuthaHubba, it was recommended by a store employee in East Lansing as I looked at a few options. It's perfect for me and my two kids, there's enough headspace for me to get dressed and move around (at 6ft tall). I did get the Gear Loft too, that takes away from the overhead space but it's good when kids are with me to put toys and whatever in it. There's enough anchor points to survive a tornado (I can't document that tho). I would definitely encourage others to buy this, set up is super easy with the pole system and I like having the poles mounted with clips rather than through fabric. I also bought the Gear Shed, I wouldn't use that for backwoods hiking but for small trips with my kids, it's ideal for all the extra stuff we don't want left out in plane sight... or in the tent with us. Lastly, I love having a 'door' on each end of the tent, but the only drawback, is that the doors are a little small and I'd have preferred them to be bigger on the wide wall. I tried other tents and this one beat all the rest for a lightweight 3 person tent.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Design Flaw Major Design Flaw! I am a highly experienced canoe tripper who buys high end gear and expects the very best from such gear and puts his gear through what it is designed to do. I bought this tent a year ago and have used it on 2 canoe trips in the interior of Algonquin Park. This tent is very light weight, lots of room, packs down small and is a breeze to set up; everything MSR claims it will be. The improvements MSR has made from previous models, which I have owned, such as ventilation improvements, door zipper location etc. are nice. BUT....... the fly touches the tent body! Major design flaw. On a spring and summer canoe trip it rained (condensation formed) and because of this flaw water drips down into the tent. Getting sleeping bags wet, not good on a spring trip where temps dipped to 0 degrees. I tried everything to get the fly off of the main body of the tent and could not do it. I contacted MSR and inquired if this problem will be rectified in future models and customer service was not sure and is unaware of when the next models will be coming out. I own lots of MSR gear and am a huge supporter of their products that is why it hurts me to write this. Check mec.ca for similar reviews. Hopefully the newer models fix this. Gear research has begun....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light weight, loads of room! I've had this tent for several years now. It's definitely been my go to for back packing & sea kayaking trips. Pros- easy setup, superb venting, spacious and an attractive design. My only con would be seam tape. The tape has dried and peeled in higher wear areas. Hopping MSR has addressed this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coastal Trail (Beatty Cove)- Lake Superior Provincial Park Coastal Trail (Beatty Cove)- Lake Superior Provincial Park Gale Waring to the south. Possiable Squall warning to the north. Rain Waring that delivered as promised- 50 mm or rain a hour at times and raining for more than 24 hours. This also included 70 km gusts of wind. One of the best tent makers in the world.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 8 years and still going strong! I bought this tent 8 years ago. Never looked back. I have used my tent in many different climates. The west coast of British Columbia, Tennessee (bonnaroo) and Hawaii. It has never failed. I love when people with the huge "comfortable" tents get soaked and are no longer "comfortable". If I ever need to buy another tent (I can see why they are more expensive because the tent is a one time purchase) it will definitely be a MSR.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from She's a bad mamma jamma! Used this tent for two weeks in Yosemite. Slept three quite comfortably, with minimal gear (lots went in the bear box). Some positives and not-so-positives below. Favorites: integrated pole system; quick setup; symmetrical rain fly (front or back doesn't matter); doors at head/foot (middle person doesn't have to crawl over someone to get out); pretty nice headroom (I'm 6'1"). Not-so-Favorites: guylines seem a bit random - might need some to keep the sides of the rain fly from flapping in the wind or making contact with the tent in the pouring rain (will probably have to buy extra); doors could be a bit wider; no easy option for a gear loft, which is nice for longer stays. Purchased the MSR footprint for this tent as well. It doesn't fit quite as snug as the one for my Hubba Hubba, but worked out ok. They also tried to integrate the storage sack into the footprint itself. Seems like a good idea, but it's a PITA to pack up. Overall I'm very happy with the tent. Love MSR products and the above "not-so-favorites" aren't enough to turn me away from this tent. If you're looking for a two person version, be sure to check out the Hubba Huba NX. Recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality I have been through three different tents before falling in love with this one. The first tent I purchase was the Hub Hub NX two-person. I loved the tent but my wife on the other hand wanted a little more room. I've been purchased a Big Agnes copper spur three person tent because it was very light for backpacking. I used it once and although the weight was superb but to me the quality was not. All I could think about was my MSR Hubba Hubba tent I had and the quality of the item. After that backpacking trip as soon as I got home I looked on REI's website because I wanted to order the Hubba Hubba 3 person. It was a slight bit heavier then the Big Agnes but the weight overcomes the quality and workmanship of the product. Unfortunately the item was backordered so I did not order it. I looked at REI's website every other day and finally they got it in stock. I am proud to say I am a happy owner of a 2016 redesign Hubba Hubba NX3. We have used it many times so far and I continue to love it even more and more every time I set it up. I have recently ordered zipper pulls and some other small items for the tent. Thank You for engineering and manufacturing such a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roomy and Light I bought this last year and used it on a 4 night trek on the Superior Hiking Trail. I saved 2 pounds from my previous North Face 2 man tent and I have more room. The tent is extremely easy to set up and has plenty of guy outs for extra support in windy conditions.
