The MSR Hubba NX 1-Person Tent is a solo tent for backpacking the great outdoors on your own. The tent is freestanding and can be pitched quickly thanks to the single DAC Featherlite NFL pole. The tent body is a combination of 20D nylon ripstop and 15D mesh to create a barrier between you and all the little bugs on the other side. The rainfly features 1200mm Durashield™ polyurethane and silicone to protect against the rainiest days on the trail, with a floor of 30D ripstop nylon, 3000mm Durashield™ polyurethane and durable water repellent. That was a mouthful and sounded super science-y, but that is probably a good thing and you can trust you'll stay dry through the storms. The single door and single vestibule open wide for speedy entry/exit, just stake everything out with the included MiniGroundhog™ stakes. Lightweight and versatile, you can go from 2 lbs, 14 oz all the way down to 1 lb, 10 oz; just remember folks, footprint not included, it's totally sold separately.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and easy to use I am very happy with this tent. It’s compact, light, and easy to set up. Plenty of YouTube videos on it too if you need some visual help setting it up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unexplained bug In my opinion, this is the best ultra-light solo tent on the market. It serves all my purposes. As an important feature, I can mention its shape: most shelters are wide enough in the shoulder area and the width contracts closer to feet. As the opposite, this tent has transverse symmetry. This is not a rare case for the midnight, to realize there is a rock beneath the bottom, and your back or shoulders are uncomfortable with that. In this situation you can easily rotate by 180°, swapping feet and head spots. And fall asleep again. However, this tent has a room for improvement. This is about the loop for fixing the back side of the fly. This loop is 10 centimeters above the ground and I see no way to use a tent stake without attaching additional piece of cord. I find it strange, MSR could miss this thing before production or designed such thing on purpose. Nevertheless, I know the only one competitor on the market - The North Face Triarh 1. It is 10 grams lightener, but water-resistance of it's floor is ranked twice less, than MSR's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Solo Great Tent so far! Have used it on some backpacking trips and putting it to the test on Isle Royale next week. Very comfortable for being a single person tent. The weight is worth it for the comfort. Enough room to move around inside, as well as have pack and cooking area within the fly if raining. Super easy to set up with the classic MSR hub design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal Tent Back county excellence. Very compatible for extended backpacking trips. Very spacious at minimal weight. The tent was warm and allowed space for hanging/airating clothing while sleeping.

You're kidding me -- no floor dimensions in the specs nor the description? I'm a big dude. How am I supposed to know if I'm gonna fit in there? Can one of you grab a tape measure and figure it out. It sorta looks like one end might be wider than the other

Asked by: Ridgewalker
Hi there Ridgewalker, thanks for your question! All of the product information we include on a product page is sent to us directly from the vendor themselves. I checked the vendor's website and they don't list the floor dimensions either. Go figure. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyhoo... I did some super sleuthing for the information and found that the floor dimensions are 85 x 30 inches. A lot of other MSR tents feature a trapezoid shape but not this one. This tent is symmetrical to maximize space. The peak height is 36 inches. I hope you fit!
