The MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2-Person Tent is a ultralight tent for three season backpacking. The NX stands for NEXT, the next generation of the Hubba series, as it has been redesigned for 2014. The three pounds and seven ounces of the Hubba Hubba NX is the lowest weight yet, as well as offering two different fast and light modes when combined with the optional footprint. Whatever it takes to give your back respite on the trail. The color coded webbing makes for a quick and easy set up so you can clamber inside to enjoy plenty of head and shoulder room due to the symmetrical pole geometry and non-tapered floor. The two large vestibules leaves room for your gear and a friend's, with StayDry entry provided by built-in rain gutters on the rain fly. The MSR team added plenty of venting options to aid in the war against condensation, just roll up the vestibule from the bottom, open the kickstand side vents, or sleep through the night sans-vestibule. The mesh will protect you from pesky bugs. Rise early and pack up camp in a flash with the wide mouth stuff sack, cinching it tight with the attached compression straps.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Buy I took this backpacking for an overnight trip and it was great. Very small and light in the pack, and it left lots of room for extra food! Didn't have a problem with condensation, although there was lots of ice on the inside of my fly the next morning. Can't wait to take it out this next weekend again. Great purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, classy and well thought out From the quality stakes to the guy lines and everything about this tent I like the feel design and setup. I've not yet had to set it up in a storm and would need to practice a fly first setup, but once up, love how sturdy it is. The best part is the half fly solution as I love to sleep with the fly off but want a quick fix should rain or snow move in. not had a tent before that does that as well as this one. one note: every Hubba counts. I accidentally bought the hubba nx footprint for the hubba hubba nx. Live and learn :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tent! Very Happy with the Purchase We did a lot of research for our ultralight backpacking tent before settling on the Hubba Hubba as the best balance of features, performance, and weight/size. We looked at the Marmot Tungsten, North Face Triarch, and MEC Spark, all excellent tents, before settling with MSR. Here's why: the MSR had the best overall features - it may have a bit less mesh than the Tungsten, but it also affords some privacy and its colours are low profile, which is nice in nature. We love the generous vestibules - this is a huge advantage when you already have so little room - being able to keep two 65 liter packs with shoes and poles on either side of the tent in heavy downpour is awesome. Def justifies the slightly larger size/weight that the vestibule adds. Overally, we find it quite spacious for a two person tent. Never feels claustrophic either way. It's incredibly easy to set up - even in a high wind I can get it up and ready to move into within a few minutes, working solo. No brainer, super simple. Love this. Although the fly is a bit less durable and waterfast vs other tents, we haven't really had any serious issues with sustained downpours, and we've experienced several heavy storms. Price is good, although it wouldn't kill MSR to add in a gear loft and include it - you have to be everything, including the footprint separately. Overall great tent, really enjoying our backcountry experiences with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I did my research on this one! I work for a major mountaineering outfitting supply chain. I have access to all brands of manufactures. I have access to rentals shops and repair shops, to find flaws and strengths. I am 6'4" tall and have a 5 year old I take backpacking, weight is a major factor in my needs book. Hubba Hubba NX fits 2 side by side with 7 inches extra on my height. Its vertical walls are just right for head and foot allowance. the pan and sides are high enough that you don't have to worry about water adding weight to your gear in a blowing rain storm. The vented body and fly that sits 3" off the body of the tent makes it worry free when it comes to condensation inside on cold nights. Easy grip-able tensioners allow for fast set up times in cold/ chilly weather, when your hands arn't working right, (Colorado). Stuff/packing sack allows tent to be folded and packed up neatly with out cramming it into a 6" hole/bag, (MSR bag is a top load wide opening bag). Tent and fly material is 5 yr old brat proof. Gear shed awning is a awesome accessory option that snaps right to it, no worry no fuss. vestibule could be 5 to 8 inches further extending (personal opinion) and zipper could be 1 gauge heavier. With proper cleaning and preventative maintenance should not be a problem though. Price is more than fair. This tent proves MSR has field driven designers and great quality control expectations! I didn't pick this tent because I didn't have options I picked this tent because its that awesome!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUY THIS TENT Lots of room, purchased this tent to replace a Hubba Hubba from 2014. MUCH larger inside than I thought, large enough for me (5'2) to change clothing comfortably without being squished.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from proper setup keeps you dry in rain. DAH!! I bought this tent after much reviewing online of other tents and asking my friends that go camping. plus reading reviews on this tent. the people that say they got wet in there tent when it rained, from the bottom is because they dont pull the fly tight enough down. I've used this tent a few times when its rained hard on the west coast and bone dry on the inside of the tent. Putting the fly away wet can be tricky if you dont want the tent to get wet. so buy a light weight dry bag for it. which i will be doing. as even when im camping i still like to keep my belonging clean and in good working order for years to come.

What tent stakes come with tent?

Asked by: Mark
Hiya Mark, thanks for your question! MSR uses a couple different source locations for manufacturing their products, including stakes. Depending on where the tent was manufactured, it should include either the mini groundhog or needle stakes. Both options are good quality. Hope this helps!

Would this be considered an appropriate tent for winter camping in climates like Michigan?

Asked by: makula11
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out to us. You bring up an excellent question. This tent is actually a three-season, meaning that it's good for Spring, Summer and Fall. It's not recommended that you use this one for Winter, especially here in Michigan! I would suggest checking out some Four-season tents. I'd check out the MSR Fury 2 Person Tent or even the MSR Dragontail 2 Person Tent. Both are solid tents.
