The MSR Base 2 Pot Set is a non-stick pot set for backpacking. The two non-stick aluminum pots make cooking and cleaning easier out in the backcountry, and the different sizes (1.5L & 2.5L) allow you to choose what works best for the meal. The strainer lid is ready to help keep your food in the pot while getting rid of the excess water. The two nest inside each other for packing, with an included PackTowl® for preventing scratches and keeping the clanking to a minimum as you tromp along the trail. The Talon™ pot handle secures the lid on top so nothing tumbles out, especially handy if you're adding accessories like the DeepDish™ plates or insulated mugs to your kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pot set This is a great set of pots for camping and backpacking. They're certainly not for the ultralight crowd, but perfect if you want to do more than just boil water. The nesting design makes them small enough to fit easily into a pack. I have a windpro stove and it just barely fits into the small pot for storage. I also have the quick skillet which is just the right size for this set to best with. All together it's an excellent small and light package for real cooking on the trail or at a campsite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this set! I bought this set to use in the US Peace Corps. This along with the Quick Skillet made for the ultimate Peace Corps kitchen arrangement. Everything nests correctly and is one of the most compact kits i've put together. I outfitted it with Deep Dish Plates and MSR Mugs too. My whole kit weighed under 2 lbs, and only took up 6 square inches or less. Which in my limited 50lb capacity, this was an ideal setup. Other people did not pack kits like this and had to buy things locally, which were overpriced and no where near as awesome. I expect this kit to last me at least the whole 27 months as the main components of my every day kitchen abroad in Africa.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Base Camp Pot Set Review I've been using the BC pot set for a number of years now and it has never let me down! Not much can go wrong with a pot set you say? Well... I've had GSI sets with lids that melted to my dinner, I've had sets with a pot gripping system that have failed in the back country on multi day trips. All of these things were a bummer, although not devastating to the final outcome of my trip they certainly ate up card playing time and the odd sip of Honey Jack. The only area I can see where an improvement could be made would be to make the set slightly more impact resistant. I have noticed a few dents here and there in the set from being stuffed in my pack against something that just doest have that much give. That said durability may come with added weight which I'd prefer not to carry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice Brought the larger pot with as onr only cooking pot on a two month trip- it was great. Good size for 2-3people, the non-stick is key for easy dish doing, and i love that the lid secures on (perfect for storing things inside the backpack/ food hangs).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MSR Base 2 pot set Bought this set at 1/2 price and once at home and had a better look at it I realized how well designed and put together this set is. Used it a few times and is good for 2+ people and light enough to pack in although the hard-core lightweight minimalists may not agree. Would highly recommend this for someone looking for a lightweight, sturdy and very functional pot set.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Some good, some OK I bought this to replace a Blacklite set about 2 years ago. Things I like: its sturdy and compact, good weight for a two-person backpacking/base-camping set, strainer top is a nice touch, cooks evenly and easy to clean. The non-stick has held up well. Things I dont like: the handle set up is flimsy and unstable (borderline dangerous) especially when the pot is full. The smaller pot does not nest cleanly in the larger - it slides around a lot, unless you also pack the (included) pack towel. There is wear on the non-stick in the larger pot from the smaller pot rubbing against it. Overall, the cons of this set are big enough (esp. the handle) that I would not recommend it. I usually leave the handle at home and use my old gripper handle from the Blacklite.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Most useful and durable set I've owned! I bought this set over 3 years ago. I've used them for larger (3-6 people) backpacking trips, car-camping trips, week long winter bc ski trips, plus. They've been over propane stoves, on grills, over coals and on backpacking stoves. Handle design very sturdy even with a pot full of boiling hot ex-snow. The red plastic detail below the rubber handle lid broke in the first year (totally cosmetic), but the pots have held there ground. Pretty impressive as I'm terribly hard on gear. Relatively light for the durability, and hold heat and distribute heat reasonably well (far better than any lighter weight gear and my titanium solo gear). By far the best compromise between cook-ability and weight I've found. I'd by them again if they ever wore out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from what more you could ask for in a pot set Not sure what more you could ask for in a pot set. They nest well together, they are pretty light, they don't stick and the handle and strainer lid both work very well. The handle clamps the lid on tight so anything you put in stays put (I fit the Whisperlite™ International in the 2.5 L pot and that works well). Works as advertised so I can't ask for more.
