The Lowa Men's Tibet GTX Boot is a heavy duty boot for heavy duty loads. Seriously. Load up that 80L or bigger pack and get to hoofin' it along some gnarly trails. The high cut protects the ankles against scrapes, rocks, bumps and bruises with the help of the Nubuck leather upper. Hidden within is a GORE-TEX® lining, providing the waterproof/breathable protection needed to ignore the rain and snow and continue on with the hike. The full length nylon shank adds the stability needed underfoot, even if you're adding crampons for parts of the journey. When the trail is tough, the Vibram® Masai outsole can handle it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the money! I bought these and immediately went for a 10 mile hike. Comfortable and I did not get any blisters. I’m a size 14 and they were true to size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not waterproof I took these out on their first extended hike in the wilds of Alaska. I had waterproofed them per manufacture specs. They leaked like a sieve. very disappointed. I expected more from a high dollar boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and designed for rough scree I hiked Nepal's Annapurna Trail through the Himalayas in the late winter of 2016 in these boots with a 30lb pack. Every time I think of that trek I whisper a little thank you to these boots. They were perfect for the 25F to 50F weather, wet/rocky terrain and steep slopes. I never slipped or over-extended my ankle on the rough terrain (though I might have with other boots I own!). They were truly a delight to put-on each morning and I never felt the need to remove them till late at night. My feet never felt beat-up, never got a blister, and strange as it sounds... whatever terrain I faced I felt confident my boots would get me through (rain, snow, run-off, scree, slippery climbs and Tarzan bridges). The only upgrade I recommend is to the inserts because the factory ones don't provide the cushioning a long trek requires. There's a reason $400 boots exist... and every day you wear them you'll be thankful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Intial thoughts - Great boot. I have not had a chance to truly test these. I have only been able to wear them around the house to break them in. But initial impression are: fit and finish is top notch. lacing system awesome not to bad to break in thinking they will work great for future western hunts. I expect these boots to last me many years. Brent

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad you know what boot! Third pair. I abuse them and they take like no other. Minimum break in. Comfortable out of the box. Great ankle support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stubborn but worth it I had to exchange for the wide version and they took a LONG time to break in. I wore them on a 12 mile hike every week for 6 months and still was unsure about them. I almost gave up. After hiking in NZ for 6 weeks I'm glad I stuck it out. Awesome! The heavier the load the better they will feel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great if they match up to your needs Reviewing footwear is tricky. It's not fair to judge a boot for being too wide or narrow, since everyone is different and it's not the boot's fault if it didn't fit you. For me, this boot was a little bit wide for my strange alien feet. But there was so much that made me want to love these boots and gain some weight in my feet so that I could wear them forever.,,,,The quality is amazing. They are the toughest backpacking boots I've owned. The break-in period wasn't that bad. Plenty of cushioning. And the gore-tex is genuinely effective at breathing in mild weather.,,,,That being said, you need to ask if these boots meet your needs. They aren't light. They almost feel like mountaineering boots, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them with crampons for a mild snow climb. They're waterproof, so they can get hot. You wouldn't want them for a day hike unless you just really like heavy boots. You will want them for carrying heavy loads over talus and scree. Oh and they look good too!

What is the weight of a pair of 12.5 Wide?

Asked by: CumbresTrekker
Hey there, Thanks for your question! These boots are about 4 lbs a pair. That's for a size 9, so a size 12 may be a few ounces more, but not too much. Maybe only a skosh!

I am going on an Elk hunting trip .  will be in mountains is the Tibet a good choice or would you recommend another boot?  Thanks

Asked by: green1
Thanks for the question! These boots were specifically designed for hunting, hiking, and trekking. So they will for sure work. If you are going to be doing a lot of ascending/ descending, then I would consider the Camino Boots. You can check out the link to them below.
