Rated 1 out of 5 by from Like taking 100 steps backwards. I LOVED the old commuter line. I had numerous pairs of jeans and trousers. They had a brilliant stretch to them, re-enforced sitty parts, and fit perfect. These are the EXACT opposite. Gone is any sort of stretch. They are very stiff, comparable to dickies, which can't stand. They are no long re-enforced. They also run small. There is no way I would ride a bike in these. Returning immediately, and super bummed. PLEASE bring back the old versions, they were perfection.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Older version better Completely agree with other reviewer, they aren't as nice as the over designs. The seat pad, material, fit, color, and stretch were vastly superior in the older model. I'm going to pass on these and return them. I'll go with a different brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The older version is the better version I have the 511 skinny commuter version in dusky blue from 2011. They've lasted me until now, they've taken me through cities, desert, mountains, bicycle, and even horseback. They're tough with just the right stretch and breathability. I've tried the new versions, they can't compare. I guess they're more "urban" but they're of a cheaper quality and have lost the best features that made the pair from 2011 so great. Hey Levi, bring us back to the good ol' vintage days of 2011!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Older iterations were much better I've been an avid fan of the Commuter collection since its inception, and have bought various pairs of pants and trousers throughout the years. I recently tore through a pair of older (~2 years of 2-season use) Commuter trousers and sought the new version to replace them. I love the slight stretch, the high-waisted back, and the reinforced 'saddle' area. The older version I had also had fairly generous rear pockets, which I liked a lot. Fast forward to 2015, and it seems Levi's has completely taken away many of the features that made the series so great in the first place. First and foremost, there is no more reinforced crotch area! Second, the fabric used seems much thinner, and way less stretchy/comfortable than the material used in my older pairs. They don't seem likely to hold up nearly as well, and I will most likely have to replace them much sooner than the pair these were initially replacing. As a minor nit to pick, they also reduced the rear pocket size, which places my wallet in an uncomfortable position sitting down, and also makes me much more nervous about losing my wallet while riding (which wasn't a problem with the older, deeper pockets). Unfortunately, the 'downgrading' of the crucial features of these trousers basically makes them closer to Dickies with some reflective piping. I am hoping that by the time some of my other older pairs wear out, there will be an actual improvement of the current models // a return to the feature-laden previous designs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from waist sizing very off, lost features that made commuter jeans great Let me say that I love the concept behind Levi's commuter line. I own multiple pairs of pants from the line and wear them daily. However, I'm pretty disappointed in this latest run of pants. first off: No stretch component at all. an important feature for commuter pants. secondly: why did levi's do away with the reinforced crotch? it was of the main selling points of buying commuter-specific jeans. Thirdly, i get that these are slim fit pants, but that shouldn't apply to the waist sizing. I'm a 36, and while my other commuter pants are on-point from a waist size, these are almost a whole size smaller.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing The originals were awesome. These feel like a step down in every way.. from style to fit a durability.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bring back the old style i recently bought two pairs of these after loving the first pair i bought a few years ago. bottom line is that they are not comfortable for riding. the fit has changed. i now have to wear a 33 instead of a 32. the fabric bunches up behind the knees and is uncomfortable. after just a few wears, my wallet and phone are already making marks in each of the front pockets.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sadly the other reviews are correct These are not like the former version of these pants, which were great!! All the other review complaints were true for me too: stiff, feels cheaper than before, and runs tight! I loved the older model so much...I bought them in 2011 and just now they are fraying, after years of constant wear and washing. An unfortunate choice in that Levi's meeting to downgrade to this quality!
