Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sticky shoe that is probably better than you are at rock climbing This shoe makes you better or it lets you get away with doing harder stuff than you should be doing. The rubber is really sticky, but it wears out fast. I got them down to resole status in about 6 months climbing in the gym with them 2-3 days a week, which is fairly good mileage. When you get them resoled, it will be nearly impossible to retain the same turned down shape. I'd recommend sizing down a half a size, or a full size if your feet are narrow or if you like the pain. The heel is large and bulbous, the bottom is really turned down: good for those with fat heels and high arches. I have thin, flat feet, but I still like them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turn toes into fingers If you have a Sportiva foot, these are probably the best shoes on the market. Although downturned, the plush interior makes them a lot more comfortable than the Miura lace. I find them much more sensitive than Miura VS, although the Testarossa heel hook is definitely less comfortable/bomber. However, I don't really use heel hooks as much as I do with Miuras partly because I feel like getting a high foot (yes, so high the I would ordinarily heel hook) gives me almost as much power. Also, anytime you have a big horizontal crack, you can just shove your foot in and cam with basically zero effort. The only drawback is that they're lace. Size maybe half a US size down from street.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I own two pairs now. I bought a pair of these last December for a competition because I needed a more aggressive shoe than my Anasazi V2's could manage. I wore through the first pair in 6 months and they are currently getting resoled. Because I loved them so much, however, I bought a second pair so I can always have one ready! They fit like a glove, hurt like hell on the ground but feel FLAWLESS on the wall (probably because I downsized exactly the right amount). It doesn't matter if I'm smearing, hitting a jug, heel hooking, toe-hooking, or using the smallest foot placement available at a strange angle, It serves me well. And I haven't even mentioned how light they are!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great shoes for pulling down tried these on at a la sportiva demo and fell in love. these shoes have a great downturn and nice edging which make them perfect for super precise footwork and steep climbing. I like these because of the super tight fit you get from the intense lace-up design, they're hard to get in and out of but worth the effort. I think they run about a half size smaller than the women's katanas, i have both in a 35.5 and the testarossas are much more snug, i think this is due to the downturn (and perhaps a narrower last) as opposed to simply the lace-up construction. i still like my katanas and 5.10 mocs better for every day wear but when it comes to sending these shoes kick butt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from meh.....actually one awesome shoe!!!!! i wear a 12 in the shoe and got these in a 43 to about 2 - 2 1/2 sizes down ffrom my regular shoe. They do stretch quit a bit but with that said i still can not wear these for more than about an hour, but with an aggressive shoe if you are comfortable with them, then you probably sized them wrong. I like laces on my shoes, its a different grip on the foot then straps, so if you like laces then this is your shoe for aggressive shoes look no further. Some say it has no heel for heel hooks. NOT TRUE, it has a more sensitive heel for heel hooks so you are goin to be more incline to know how your heel feels. all around very good shoe for smearing edging and all that jazz

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good shoe for sport climbing. This is one of the best shoes I have ever tried on. It is incredibly precise and will allow an individual to grad just about anything. I had a slight problem with the glue coming undone after two or three uses and had to send the shoes back. I would still buy them again and highly recommend them. These shoes are better than miuras or venoms and worth the money. I have the same size as in miuras and these might be a little smaller, but probably the same number(in terms of the size). P.S. if you are thinking about getting these shoes you should climb enough that you are willing to spend the money. No point in paying that amount if you will just wreck the toes on a gym wall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ferraris are expensive too but you get what you pay for. These are some sexy shoes, I've never felt a climbing shoe feel like this on my foot and I've climbed about 30 different models. The heel is amazing, very sensitive but it hooks aggressively. edging is SOLID. These work well on the tiny edges commonly found at Smith. I was able to squeeze my 10.5 foot into a 40.5 and after a mild break-in they work awesome and fit like they were custom fitted to my feet. Pull the trigger, you won't regret it. When my cobras feel too soft for the route, I throw these on, and they are also my go-to redpoint shoes. Amazing bouldering shoes as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Shoe You Want!!!!! I love these shoes. I bought 2 pairs one for indoors and one for outside. I tried La Sportiva Solutions for my hard bouldering shoe. They hurt like hell and and I could not grab little features with my toe in them like I can in these. Alot of people love the Solutions but these are my go to shoe. The heel in the Solutions is better than in these but I can still heel hook really well in these your just gonna feel it alot more. I have a troll sized foot, Narrow but long. 48 in my Ice boots. I have to wear a 45 in these due to thats the biggest size they make. They hurt at first but stretch alot. They fit like a glove after a few days and dont wreck my feet like the Solutions did.

La Sportiva footwear is built and offered on European half sizes, which are smaller increments than US half sizes. This gives them four extra sizes per size run, and ultimately gives you a better fit.

Please review La Sportiva's size conversion chart above to help determine your ideal size. Below you will find additional information about how to fit and break in the different styles of La Sportiva footwear, which will also help guide you to the correct size.

• As a general rule soft shoes like climbing shoes require a tighter fit, or about two to three sizes smaller than your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva recommends you fit your trad climbing shoes one to two sizes under your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva offers a lot of lasts, and each offers a different fit and feel. Remember to factor in potential stretching.
• Unlined slip-lasted shoes tend to stretch a bit more than lined shoes, or about one full size.
• Lined shoes stretch about a half size.

• PERFORMANCE FIT - offers a high performance fit and a downturned last.
• TECH FIT - a more technical fit and a last with neutral profile.
• COMFORT FIT - a comfortable fit and a last with more volume and a neutral profile.

• Find your US Size in the guide above, then find the Euro Size conversion and add one half size.
• The ideal size holds your toes ever so slightly away from the front of the boot while the lacing system is snug across the top of your arch.
• If you can try to boots on beforehand, make sure you wear the same size and weight socks you would typically wear with the boots, and any orthotics or custom footbeds you use.
• It is ideal to fit boots later in the day since feet are prone to swell slightly as a day progresses.
• Wear your boots indoors only until you are confident about the fit.
• Your foot should feel snug (not tight) from the arch back into the heel pocket with just a minimum lift as you walk. If your heel lifts make sure the lacing is snug and not too loose.
• Your toes should NOT touch the front of the boot, but when you kick the toe into the floor, you should know where the front of the boot is. You want just enough room to wiggle your toes.
• If your toes or sides of your feet feel squished, most likely the width is too narrow and the boot will not work for you.
• If your toes touch the front of the boot, most likely it is too short and you need the next half size up.
• Make sure to keep all original packaging that came with your boots until you are sure that you are happy with your purchase.
