Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best all around boot! I've taken this boot ice climbing as well as through waist deep powder and 15F weather. My feet are warm and toasty the entire time. It is almost like having temp control within the boot itself, it never gets too hot or cold. I was able to convince 3 other friend to get this and they all only have great things to say about it. It is the best all around boot to climb in the Cascades with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lighter yet warmer than my Evos I have used Nepal Evos to climb Mont Blanc and other goals in the French Alps, to ice climb in the Adirondacks, and in bad conditions in the Cascades. These new Baturas have an identical sole (don't even need to adjust my crampons to switch boots), and are 400 grams lighter per pair (actual weight on my postal scale), but they are warmer despite the light weight. The outer part seals up tight against water/snow/ice and presents a clean profile with no exposed laces. My new go-to boots for icy adventures. (Note: I use Superfeet orange footbeds in both these and my Evos to make up for narrow feet; I wear the same size 43 in both.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from picture Cookie dough stuffed Oreos.... these are one bad donkey pair of boots, ive taken them to Baker, Rainier and Ice climbing. walked into and across the river leading up to backer and my feet stayed dryed. the trick is not staying still and not staying long. there light weight compared plastic, and alot alot more flexable, but theres always a down side, there delicate when is comes to Crampons and can pierce the outer layer quite easily. comfort is good, but you Must buy one size bigger to alowe for feet to swell and when climbing when you kick the ice so you dont crush your toes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First boot purchase and probably my last for many years! I have, for years, been renting double plastic Koflachs since I got 'em for free, but those days are long gone, so I hunted for boots and looked no further than the Batura. Since then, I have not looked back.,,,,Thoughts (1-10):,,,,Comfort: 9 - Everything from ice cragging to mountaineering, to alpine ice: this boot performed well. You may have to adjust the lace tightness to switch between walking and ice climbing; BUT, break these in a before you head to the hills (winter hike?), and get insoles if you can!,,Weight: 10 - Absurdly light for a super gaiter boot. Beats all the competition (948 g),,Warmth: 9 - The downside to supergaiter boots is that there is no liner to remove and dry when you're at camp, so they can be cold when wet and you're stationary for a long time. But once you start moving, it quickly becomes toasty!,,Climbability: 9 - Get a dialed size and once you buy, fiddle with the lacing.,,Waterproofness: 10 - always dry against outside moisture

La Sportiva footwear is built and offered on European half sizes, which are smaller increments than US half sizes. This gives them four extra sizes per size run, and ultimately gives you a better fit.

Please review La Sportiva's size conversion chart above to help determine your ideal size. Below you will find additional information about how to fit and break in the different styles of La Sportiva footwear, which will also help guide you to the correct size.

• As a general rule soft shoes like climbing shoes require a tighter fit, or about two to three sizes smaller than your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva recommends you fit your trad climbing shoes one to two sizes under your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva offers a lot of lasts, and each offers a different fit and feel. Remember to factor in potential stretching.
• Unlined slip-lasted shoes tend to stretch a bit more than lined shoes, or about one full size.
• Lined shoes stretch about a half size.

• PERFORMANCE FIT - offers a high performance fit and a downturned last.
• TECH FIT - a more technical fit and a last with neutral profile.
• COMFORT FIT - a comfortable fit and a last with more volume and a neutral profile.

• Find your US Size in the guide above, then find the Euro Size conversion and add one half size.
• The ideal size holds your toes ever so slightly away from the front of the boot while the lacing system is snug across the top of your arch.
• If you can try to boots on beforehand, make sure you wear the same size and weight socks you would typically wear with the boots, and any orthotics or custom footbeds you use.
• It is ideal to fit boots later in the day since feet are prone to swell slightly as a day progresses.
• Wear your boots indoors only until you are confident about the fit.
• Your foot should feel snug (not tight) from the arch back into the heel pocket with just a minimum lift as you walk. If your heel lifts make sure the lacing is snug and not too loose.
• Your toes should NOT touch the front of the boot, but when you kick the toe into the floor, you should know where the front of the boot is. You want just enough room to wiggle your toes.
• If your toes or sides of your feet feel squished, most likely the width is too narrow and the boot will not work for you.
• If your toes touch the front of the boot, most likely it is too short and you need the next half size up.
• Make sure to keep all original packaging that came with your boots until you are sure that you are happy with your purchase.
