The Julbo Explorer XL Sunglasses are large frame sunglasses for mountaineering. With a bigger frame than it's little brother the Explorer, the XL steps it up for those with larger faces that need to dial in on the fit. Wrapping close to the face, Spectron 4 lenses protect against the harmful rays of sun met in high altitude applications. Side shields do their part to prevent your peripheral vision from sun damage and vents allow air to flow, deterring fog. Whether you're wearing a helmet or winter hat, or letting your flow fly free, the stems are 360° adjustable and won't stick to your hair when taking them off.

FEATURES of the Julbo Explorer Extra Large Sunglasses

  • Total Cover Shape: Maximum protection in extreme conditions against harsh sunlight
  • Removable Side Shields: Lateral protection against harsh sunlight
  • 360° Adjustable Temples: Stem ends bend in every direction, easy to wear and good hold when worn with helmet, beanie or simply alone
  • Grip Tech: Soft comfort exclusive material on the temples that doesn't stick to hair, giving perfect hold and comfort
  • Front Venting: Natural front air flow thanks to the lens shape or mounting structure
  • Adjustable Cord

Rated 5 out of 5 by from big eye sockets and bushy eyebrows...no problem these glasses are straight rockin...the ear pieces are flexible and will allow you to adjust to you noggin the way you want them to...the snap on eye shutters blocks even more light from the sides and top....the lenses are very dark and and probably shouldnt be worn driving unless you are in a state such as Florida where it rains sunshine about 28 hours a day...just kidding about the 28 hour thing but these are definitely for real Bad Ass glasses...they cover my cartoonish eyes and my unibrow, so im set....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from specific glasses, insures how much your SIGHTis worth. These may seem pricey for glasses you may only seldom use, but for real...how much would you pay to keep your sight. Spending $20 a month on contacts, or $1000 on Lasik, seems to be a pretty good deal when it comes to maximizing your eye sight. This is exactly the same. With maximum protection from rays and wind, one is able to enjoy all the beauty and views that summiting offers. You climbed all the way up, maintained your focus, so enjoy looking around while having the assurance of having the right glasses for the job, plus they seem to fit a lot better than the basic glasses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great glacier glasses Fantastic optical clarity, great design, great quality. The XLs are a much better fit for my roundish size (hat) 7 3/4 head. I wish they came with a hard case like some other Julbos I've had in the past. They don't seem to fit every face, but if they fit yours, you can't find better glacier glasses. I went with the Spectron lenses which a appropriately dark and yield very true colors. Also very fog resistant. I personally like non-polarized lenses for extensive glacier travel as I feel they make it a bit easier to read the snow/ice and to distinguish ice from snow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for venting I've always had trouble with glacier glasses fogging up. It may be the way my face is arranged, but no matter what, once I'm sweating up the mountain, I lose half of my vision to fogging. These glasses fixed that issue. They are very big, but most glacier glasses are and something about these resolves the fogging problem I've had, so I don't care. They come with an adjustable strap on the back, which is a must for adjustments on the fly and for keeping them on in all conditions. They are comfortable and secure and highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best you'll get They are amazing. Full coverage all the way around your eyes so when acrtic air is blasting it doesn't get into your eyes! Doesn't let in sneaky rays of sunlight either. Comfortable. I really like the holder-on thing so you can adjust the staying power of the glasses when you look down. They do look kind of dorky, but they are amazing once on your face. You won't want to take them off or share with your girlfriend either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save your eyes These are great glacier and mountaineering glasses for those of us with big heads. They provide full coverage from the sun/wind and are comfortable to wear with the flexible earpieces and adjustable cord. Also, for glacier glasses they are pretty stylish. The only trouble I had was keeping them clean, which as far as I can tell is impossible with any choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for bigger heads This was my first pair, and I am a fan. Great fit on my big melon head, and I love the darker tint. Not sure about the non fogging lens, as they seemed to fog up just like my oakleys, but not a big deal.
