Rated 5 out of 5 by from very compact inexpensive jetboil but a gem for the price When I saw this hit $59 I knew it was time to take the plunge into the all in one system. It's a little smaller then the normal jetboil but for $40 less then the original not to bad of a trade off. I fired this thing up about 30 seconds out of the box and it boiled water faster then it took me to get everything out of the box and setup. For the price you can't go wrong if your looking for a basic jetboil if you don't mind not having all the bells and whistles that some of the others have, piezo lighter, that special color changing one to tell you your water is warm enough..isn't that what eyes are for to see it boiling?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super compact and really fast boil time! I originally purchased the Zip system and used it many times backpacking, 2-6 day trips. In the morning its perfect for some piping hot fresh coffee and in the evening fits a serving and a half or so of pasta. But BEWARE, they sell the pot adapter attachment for a reason. A friend placed a pot(not a flux ring one) on the stove because it was larger and without the pot adapter the black plastic part of the stove itself completely melted. Other than my obvious misuse of the product, it had held up fantastically. I have replaced my sad melted stove with the MiniMo set up and am looking forward to improved simmer control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super fast Wow this thing boils water so quick. I used my moosejaw rewards points to get this so I figured if I don't like it I'll just get a different brand/style of stove but that's not happening. I love this thing, it's super light, easy to set up and boy can it boil water fast, I don't know if I've ever waited over 45 seconds for the water to boil. The only negative I have is the dial to control the gas/flame power. I wish it was a little bigger and easier to adjust the gas but after time you get used to it and know the sweet spots. Overall a great stove that I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice entry level stove

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for weekend trips in a small group. I bought this to replace a MSR Pocket Rocket that broke on my last trip. I love how the pot is attached to the stove in order to conserve fuel and you don't have to worry about the pot slipping off and spilling. The only downside is that if the food begins to boil over, it's pretty hard to remove it from the heat quickly. That just means that you have to pay attention when cooking. Otherwise, love how compact it is and the insulated cup. ,,,,Not perfect if you want to do any serious cookin (I bring my MSR Dragonfly for that), but great for boiling some water, making some rice, or cooking some soup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad A$$ Boil Set Pros: comes w/ extra equipment (tripod stand & attachment to boil other pots $20 value), strainer & sipping hole are practical, fuel can & everything it comes w/ (accept attachment to boil other pots) fits inside the pot; its compact in my pack. Its lightweight Im no counter, but considering if you were to buy a standalone burner (MSR Pocket rocket) youll need to bring the fuel & pot etc. which will not be condensed into a small size like jetboil. Con: the simmer dial seems to not work; it's either off, high, or higher. Hard trying to sustain a boil for a length of time. Its a non issue; the last thing I need is to use up my fuel boiling water forever. Get this! You will not regret it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For a fast cup of hot water.... Compact, fast, clever design, I love this thing. I’m thinking about replacing my microwave with it for heating water. You would not believe how tough it is backpacking with a microwave, not to mention the extension cord!,,Seriously, there are a couple of small changes I’d make. One, the lid could snap on a bit more securely. Two, it can be hard to find a hole to slide the match in for lighting. Overall though, it’s pure gold. I fed my family of four on freeze dried meals with it, and the last person’s water was boiling long before the first person’s meal was done un-freeze-drying.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful and Reliable I have taken my JetBoil on multiple trips now and it yet to fail me. It is crazy how quickly it heats up water, and it using surprisingly little fuel. My zip is large enough to cook for me and a friend but I wouldn't try to use it for 3 people. Even though there is no ignition switch it lights up very easily. I have had to light it many times in the dark with cold hands and I had no problem. The best part is that everything collapses down and it is easy to carry in your backpack on a trip. My favorite part though might be the coffee filter you can buy for it, it is great!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Jetboil Zip delivers in every way! Super Easy Setup, Compact, Fast Boil, Easy Cleanup Got this just in time for a 15 degree backpacking trip the day after the first day of Spring. Yeah nice weather for Spring. It's almost fool proof. Very basic setup and directions. It was a windy night and surprisingly it lit right away and only once went out and fired right back up and had no issues after that. Water boiled faster than i expected. I love how everything including the fuel pot fit inside the pot for compact storage and backpack friendly. Only downfalls i see is the fact you have to have the coozy around it to remove from the heat and i didn't have the issue but i could see people overfilling it and having it boil over on them. Very impressed with it overall. Would rate it a 8.8 out of 10. This will do until i can build my own ultra light stove!!. Thanks Moosejaw and Jet Boil. I should add it arrived promptly and packaged well with a nice sample energy bar as well :)

How is this different from the Jetboil MicroMo?

Asked by: Guest
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! You bring up a great question! While the weight, the dimensions and volume will be the same...the boil time and power will be different. For boil time (per 16 oz) the Micro will be 2 minutes and 15 seconds while the Zip personal will be 2 minutes and 30 seconds. For the power, the Micro will have 6000 BTU/h and the Zip personal will have 4500 BTU/h. Hope this helped you out!
