Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of equipment I am in the military and this thing is great when I am out in the field without any way to heat my water for coffee or heat up my food. Just set this up and let it do it’s thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I bought this 5 years ago it it still work's great! I carry a small fry pan to cook with it to but it can be a bit tricky to regulate the heat... Mountain house meals, coffee, soups and boiling water are what it's designed for but has made much much more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So compact! I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he LOVED it! It’s a very compact cook system that comes with everything you need except the fuel. The whole system packs inside itself and is EXTREMELY light and compact. We plan on using it for day hikes and backpacking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Jetboil, rocks mountain tops... I backpack alot. 1700 miles a season, or more. Being Retired, Army Special Opertions, I have that time on trail. Along with my Son, Boy Scout, Life rank, we would never leave the house, with a canaster stove, other than our Jetboil. Love MSR, but Jetboil is in its own, universe....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight but... This stove is especially commendable for two things: it's light weight and it boils water fast. However, those two features require some sacrifice: 1. Most "lightweight" products are not built to take abuse. I can tell that this stove will not survive in a camping environment where it is not handeled with care...accidental drop, or kick, etc. 2. Because it was built to be lightweight, it is obviously, the amount of water that can be boiled is smaller. If you are solo and not boiling for several people, it will do just fine. 3. The larger Jet Boil has an igniter...this one doesn't. 4. This stove really wasn't built to cook was designed to boil water. If you're doing dehydrated food, that's great...but not if you need to "cook". This stove is very effective at boiling a small amount of water fast. And as long as it is not dropped or bent, etc I expect it will be great for just that. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Curious to know if it's compatible with Coleman propane cylinder. Thanks.

Asked by: Lian
Hiya Lian, thanks for your question! Yes, it is compatible. It hasn't been tested with every different type of fuel canister, but Jetboil stoves are generally compatible with valves made to the EN417 specification (which is standard). Hope this helps!

How much burn time from one canister

Asked by: josh
Thanks for the question! The boil time is 2 minutes 30 seconds per 1/2 liter (16 ounces). A 100 gram canister of Jetpower fuel boils up to 10-12 liters of water. If you're melting snow, assume 6 liters per canister. It never hurts to have an extra canister of fuel along. Please be advised, when in colder temperatures, it will take longer for your water to boil and thus your burner will use more fuel - so adhere to the 6L rule. Hope this helps!
