Super useful toolThis is a cool example of what happens when a company listens to its customers. They provided me with a Jetguage to try out, and I can’t explain how helpful this little thing is. I had a ton of half-used fuel canisters rolling around my garage but always bought new ones before a trip because I wasn’t sure how much life they had left. The Jetguage solves that problem, and the chart on the side that tells you much water you can boil has come in really handy.

So Simple!Takes out all the math work in how much gas is left in the can and replaces it with a simple percentage. Totally got rid of 2 out of 5 old cans of fuel.

Jet Gauge UsageHaving all available information is key to planning efficiently. Whether it is small scale bouldering adventures or into the middle of China’s illustrious jungles –– knowing how much fuel is beneficial.
The “shake test” can only go so far. Why guess when you don’t have to? I will admit the Jet Gauge did feel a little bit gimmicky when I first tried it. I was a huge advocate of the shake test. But after a few weeks of using a prototype, I found that I was using fuel canisters more efficiently and never wondered which one to take. It takes any guess work out of packing and I was more assured as to which fuel canister would be appropriate for the adventure I was prepping for.
It was a little tough to read when out in the sun testing fuel canisters on the back of my Tacoma.
So now the Jet Gauge goes with me wherever.

Good ideaCan’t get it to work the way it’s advertise. Mine came with a depleted battery so I had to go out and buy a new one. Also feels like buying a new toy and the batteries wasn’t included.
10 out of 10 times I couldn’t get the same reading. Each time it was off by at least 5% or more. In my opinion anything greater than 5% discrepancy is crusical. Especially if you’re backpacking.
