Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great purchase! I walk with my dog daily and use my speedboats and they are very comfortable and supportive

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality The bottom of the shoe cracked and split apart in less than 3 months with daily trail walking in Arizona.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Control. Since January, I have purchased 7 pairs of Hoka Speedgoats in a size 7.5. Based on the fit and performance of my first pair, I purchased several more pairs of the exact same shoe. The first pair fit my feet well, had great soles and traction. I ran on snow and ice without slipping. 5 out of 7 were Corsican blue. Due to inconsistencies, 3 out of 7 were wearable. 4 pairs were at least a half size larger than a standard 7.5 women's running shoe. On one pair, the top two lace holes were spaced much too closely, rendering the top hole useless. As I tried to replace my first pair, I have been highly disappointed with this shoe. I run 20 to 40 miles per week on trails and have been training for a 50k trail race that requires a drop bag with an extra pair of shoes. When I find a shoe that I like, I will buy multiple pairs. For as much as this shoe costs, I can't understand why there is no quality control. Recently, I purchased the Speedgoat 2 and am hoping Hoka has gotten a handle on the quality control issues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Stability, narrow fit I have the HOKA Constant 2 which I absolutely loved for the plush feel on road or trail. I was looking for a trail shoe and the Speedgoat reviews seemed more like my style. It's hard to determine whether the shoe will fit based on reviews and I've been reluctant to order online. But with the 30 day guarantee, I couldn't lose. Upon arrival, the shoe seemed stiff, The shoe has a narrow toe box compared to the Constant so I'm glad I ordered a 1/2 size bigger, 10.5. I wear a size 10 in the Constant. It still leaves room for my orthotics. The Speedgoat is stiffer and the Vibram sole provides great traction. You can feel the sturdiness of the shoe when running on the road, but on the trail, the shoe feels great and holds the foot steady. The sole seems high, but it does not interfere with my stability. I have had Plantar Fasciitis for the past 3 months and the stability of this shoe is great and does not aggravate it. In fact, I haven't had the pain for the past couple of weeks after my runs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Odd fit, cheap material The material felt very cheap, like plastic. The tongue was thin and cuts into the ankle. I am an 8 in every quality running shoe I buy. I was swimming in the 8 for this shoe

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great traction on dirt roads! I quit running 3 years ago because of recurring plantar fasciitis pain. Several of my running friends recently recommended Hoka One One shoes. I ordered the Speedgoat because I will primarily be running on the dirt roads around my house. I am now on week 4 of the couch to 5k program and haven't had any plantar pain! It did take me a few wears to get used to the arch, maybe because these shoes are also good for stability.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not really for me :( I liked the outsole seems to have good traction for the trails but it was too narrow for me. Also was unestable in one side that almost cause me to twist an ankle. I love Hoka's but this model wasn't for me....:(

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pushed to the Limits These shoes exceeded my expectations with regards to the way I used them. I wore them for a 7 day off trail backpacking trip in the High Sierra. I was walking on a lot of 3rd class talus, sand, scree, granite slabs, tundra grass, stream crossings, etc. while wearing a 20-24 pound pack. I experienced no foot fatigue or pain, no knee or hip soreness. No blisters or hotspots. This is amazing! I have a narrow foot and ordered a half size up from my normal size and there was plenty of room in the toe box. I did experience the pinky toe rub as reported by a few reviewers, but that went away after an initial break-in period of about 7 trail miles. These are almost my ideal shoe. The one con I had was that they are a little sloppy when hopping through the talus fields. In this case I wish the lacing could be locked down a little further in the toe box for this purpose. With that said, all I needed to do was focus on my foot placement a little more and no problem. The rubber is super sticky, comparable to a climbing brand approach shoe. I was walking 3rd class granite slabs with great confidence. The comfort of the shoe is awesome. My feet were amply cushioned, but I could still feel what was going on underfoot.
