Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as cushiony as the Stinson Lite but still cushiony The solid black color is why I bought this to use at work. I recommend ordering up a full size for better fit. I usually wear an 11.5 EEEE Asics or New Balance Running shoe since I have a wide foot but I need a 12.5 Hoka. I also replace the flimsy insole and put in Superfeet Carbon insoles for much needed arch support and because it is much thinner which allows for more room for my foot. This is a perfect combination. It is very comfortable and has a lot of cushioning-- much more than Asics or New Balance. The only thing I would change is to make it more breathable like the Stinson Lite, and to bring back the quick laces which were very convenient.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great cushion; wish it had more arch I walk about 3 miles a day and wanted a shoe with maximal cushion, plus width. I waited 4 months because I was told at the Goleta store that a wide shoe might be in by the fall. I came back and only the men's shoe was in Wide. The cushion IS great, but I'm sacrificing some overall comfort/fit: For the first time, I had to get a shoe that is too long in order to get the width I need. (My heel is not wide but the ball of my foot/toes are wide.) I'm also sacrificing appearance: there was no Wide women's shoe, so I got the men's shoe, ugly color and has Hoka written hugely on it. I almost didn't buy it because of these reasons, but the cushion is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Valor My Preference I use M Valor for work because I'm on my feet all day and the cushioning is great. I also use them for jogging at the park on hard pavement. I like the great cushioning on the ball of the foot and the meta rocker. Other sneakers don't have this feature and are more of a wedge design. I like how the M Valor transfers the weight of your body from the back of the foot to the front without the front of your foot slapping down on the pavement or hard surface when I walk or jog. I'm a nurse by profession and recommend these sneakers to people who have hip or joint issues with pain or discomfort. I bought 3 pair already in different colors and I just love the design of this sneaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite Hoka My favorite Hoka. I've run in the Bondi, Clifton and Vanquish. This combines the best of the Clifton and Bondi. It has the cushion of the Bondi without the stifffness that I find needs about 60 miles before they feel broken in. It has the lightweight feel of the Clifton, which I really appreciate on long runs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Getting better Aside from having a slightly tight fit for my foot (and I think I have an average width and arch) this model most closely resembles the first Bondi I bought about 6 years ago, but lighter. I bought another Bondi last year but that was too tight, felt firmer, the unpadded tongue felt uncomfortable and the shoe seemed to lack support running on anything but a flat surface. The Valor improved on all these issues and I think if it had just a slightly bigger box across the arch, so that I wouldn't need to keep the laces so loose, it would be near perfect for me. I would really liked to have added the extra insert for more padding because the additional cushioning is why I have become a Hoka-junkie.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Toe Box Too Narrow Toe box is too narrow. Too many Hoka products have had this problem in recent years. I love everything else about Hoka products (except for some of the hideous coloration) so this has been disappointing. However, I did recently get a pair of Odyssey 2 shoes which fit well including the toe box. Please just copy the specs of this model going forward...and make some of your coloration more streetwear friendly so that when I go on a trip I can take Hoka's for running plus wearing in casual streetwear situations. Thank you.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed This is my 3rd pair of Hokas (Previous models were Conquest and Stinson Lite). I am a higher mileage, fairly efficient runner, 5'9" and 150 pounds (40-50 miles per week). After only a handful of runs, I noticed significant wear on the soles of the shoes. I experienced this somewhat with the Conquest but not to the extent of the Valor. The Stinson Lite blows this shoe away in regards to durability. I wore my Stinson Lite's for well over 3 months until they began to show the wear that the Valor is showing after 5 runs. Hoka really missed the mark with this shoe in regards to its durability. I will find it hard to believe that I am the first to notice this issue and I am certain that I will not be the only one. I wanted to love this shoe...I really did. Unfortunately, the lack of durability in this shoe is a major deal breaker for me. I will likely be returning them and going back to my Stinson Lites. Buy with caution, you have been warned. Hoka really needs to co rrect this issue because I love to run in their shoes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable shoe This is my second pair of Hokas. I originally ran in the Stinson trail shoe and I would say the Valor is comparable to the Stinson in cushioning. I like the overall fit of the Valor much better than the Stinson as it seems to fit the forefront of my foot. It seems to run slightly more narrow than the Stinson trail but I like the secure fit. The valor comes with a padded tongue and I really like this feature. I was/am not a big fan of the ultra thin tongue featured on many of the Hoka models. I have limited runs in the Valor but first impressions are very high. I recommend this shoe.
