Rated 1 out of 5 by from Genius market plan I have bought multiple pairs of Hoka trying to take advantage of the cushioned ride only to be miserable with the fit. Oddly, going up a size didn't help. The earlier models used more of a "fabric" upper that I could slowly break in. The newer models use a less forgiving reinforced screen material that doesn't really break in...therefore, they don't improve some with use. With all the posts about the shoes being too narrow, I'm not sure why Hoka doesn't build a wider shoe. It seems like they modify their lines constantly, yet fail to make the one change multiple users complain about. It does sell more shoes...I have a closet full of Hoka models I've tried and can't wear (Genius marketing). Sorry for the rant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Out of the Box, But not for the long run, just yet. This is my 2nd pair of Hoka shoes. Love the padding. But... my previous pair was the Bondi 3. My only issue with those shoes was the lack of padding on the ankles and the bottom of the shoes had a lot of wear (from road contact). The Stinson 3 does have better padding on the ankles and improved material on the bottom of the shoes. But... the tongue is different, and the sewing on it gave me a blister on the top of my foot. The tongue is also a "traditional" shoe tongue, which I liked the Bondi 3 with less tongue, more of a elastic material. and the Bondi 3 had an elastic strap above the laces, which I would tuck my laces into... and now my laces keep coming untied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great shoe for the distance When I got the shoe I went for a run and the shoe was very comfortable. Even though the shoe has a lot of cushion, it makes you forget about the pain that comes with long distance training (20+ miles). When I ran my first ultra(50k) my feet were very sore since my shoes were more minimal. So I was looking for a high cushioned low drop shoe and the hoka Stinson works! The only problem I had was that the forefoot was a little narrow and my feet are very wide from running in minimal shoes and even barefoot. So I modified the lacing system and the shoes fit much better no and I love that I can still mid-forefoot strike in these too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what I was looking for I run about 20-25 miles a week on flat road runs in Oklahoma City. I went o buy another pair of Clifton 1 HOKAS but they are not available. The Clifton 2 has made some changes and a salesmen told me I needed more support then the Clifton 1 offered anyway so I made the switch. The left shoe on my pair of Stinsons has never fit "right" and the thick tongue makes both shoes feel tight. If you loosen the laces for more room then the shoe will slide off while running. I have tried for a few weeks to find a comfortable medium, but I am giving up on this shoe. I would go back to the Clifton 1 in a heartbeat, but since they are not available I am looking at Saucony again. I don't feel comfortable trying any other HOKAs at this time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some good things some bad things. Was a fan of the Stinson ATR, and when I saw the upgrade with the improved padding in the tongue, I was excited. I am not pleased with the outsole quality, as it wears very quickly in the heel. Secondly, they have removed "rubber" from the outsole, I'm sure for cost savings, but now there is more EVA exposed. Lastly, and what is a deal breaker for me, the toe box has been narrowed significantly. I am moving to the Bondi 4 as it seems to fit better and the toe box, in the same size 12.5, is much more roomy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Far, So Good! TOR SUMMIT WP: So far, a GREAT Shoe! Only FOUR Stars because I've only had them for about one month. Check back after five more months! I use this shoe for daily weekend wear and when I do not have to dress for work. If the Valor LTR came in a solid brown color, I would consider that model for a daily, dress-for-work shoe. The TOR feels great all day and the neutral brown color and "hiker" styling does not scream "HOKA" at you like some of the other models. I do my daily run in the Stinson, wear the TOR for all-day active weekends and now just need a conservative looking, functional HOKA for work and I'd be a 100% HOKA MAN!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Walking on Marshmellows I tried these on at a retail store because I wanted to know for sure about the comfort and quality of the shoe before investing my money. The woman told me that Hoka's were like walking on marshmallows. I couldn't help but smile and feel a little giddy at how ACCURATE her words were. You get about as much cushioned bounce as possible without the shoes being too bouncy nor too thick with wedged heels. I wish HOKA would add an "about us" aspect to their website. I'm a connector and now owning about 5 pair of Hoka's, I want to be part of their community and FULLY know the story of the company and it's history. Please let your loyal customers feel like a part of the Hoka revolution by knowing your story! Raving fan, Eddie

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You need to talk about your smaller sizing Your shoes are a half size smaller than traditional sizing. My coworkers and I were all directed to get your shoes by podiatrists due to varying foot conditions. Every coworker and I have had the same issue.... Your sizing appears to be different than other shoe manufacturers. You are consistently 1/2 size smaller than traditional sizing. If purchased in a store that sells your shoe, this is not an issue. Purchasing your shoe on line, as I did however, I am now stuck with a no shoes that work. I will be sending the pair back and order new shoes. This is not a major deal, but is a hassle when you are very eager to get new shoes and get cracking at a Doctor directed PT recovery program.
