Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shoe is great aside from blisters Alright, I had high hopes for this shoe and have run in almost every running shoe there is to offer. About a year ago I was sold on hokas and enjoy all their models I have run in so far, my main shoe is the odyssey and I also run in bondi and clifton and have had no issues. I never get blisters in any shoes, all I can think of was back during track season track flats gave me blisters but nothing since. I have gotten a blister on my right medial side of foot every time I have done speed work or raced in these shoes, definitely trying out the tracer or using the clifton, very surprised by this as I am a huge Hoka fan in general, hope this helps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I Absolutely Love it... One Fault I am going to start this by saying that I absolutely love this shoe! I have run several 20+km days and they hold up great, are incredibly light, and responsive. Yet they aren't perfect, and one very large drawback... the ARCHES! I have to tape my feet for anything more than a 5K, otherwise a nasty blister (primarily on the right arch) will rear it's ugly head. On one recent 25km training run the tall 'SHARP' arch actually cut through a brand new pair of injinji trail socks and into the tape. I see this is a problem with almost anyone and really wonder how this got passed Hoka's R&D Department. Hoka, you can do better than this, we believe in you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Ultimate Race Shoe I've been a fan of the Clifton since they first came out, and the Clayton is an upgrade over what had previously been my favorite racing shoe. The Clayton is both more cushioned and more stylish than the Clifton, and a very soft ride for your 5K or your marathon. The only minor drawback, as is mentioned in other reviews, is that at first there is a slight blister/hot spot issue. I noticed this on my first two or three runs in the Claytons, but I now have 30 or so miles on them and the problem seems to have gone away. So give them a chance, and don't panic about hot spots at first. These are great shoes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Will buy again if the toebox is made less restrictive I run between 25 and 30 miles a week and run a couple of marathons and 50k trail runs every year. I wanted the Clayton for a distance road running shoe. I typically like firmer shoes and the RMAT midsole feels really good. The biggest problem I find is that the toebox is simply too shallow. I find my foot burning from the restrictive upper by the end of even a 4 mile run. I have pretty wide feet, so always purchase a men's shoe for distance running and even the men's is just too tight. Hopefully, you all will improve the upper to be a little more forgiving. I will still give the shoe a solid recommendation even though I will probably not be able to use it for long runs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Its Official The Clayton is great! Ok, so some of the negative reviews scared me but I needed a lightweight, cushioned, fast shoe. Long list of common issues from over pronation to foot pains, etc. I've tried it all from custom inserts to motion control shoes so I wanted to give the Clayton a shot. The first 20 miles in the shoe needed some getting used to. I Tried different socks and dealing with some hot spots. The shoe finally broke in after 30 miles, try wearing them just to walk the dog and get used to them also. I now have over 60 miles on the shoe and they feel better and better each run. Bottom line, I look forward to my runs a lot more now without worrying about shoe issues. Thanks Hoka...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Claytons rock! I love the Claytons. I average 30-40 miles a week, year round, and run the NYC Marathon every year(about to run my 21st). I switched to Hokas 3 years ago, after long battles with plantar fasciitis. I bought 4 pairs of Cliftons over 2 years, and the plantar problems never returned. This year, I switched to the Claytons and I love them. They're light, comfortable, supportive and fast. The tongue and lace system are a big improvement from the Cliftons. I use them for all my running. Short races, speedwork, trail runs and marathons. I'm completely happy with the Claytons.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wanted to love this shoe so bad!!! I wanted to love this shoe. Was hoping it could replace the Clifton since they ruined it. I was counting down the days till the release and went to TC Running Co. when the local rep was out letting folks try on these and many other Hokas. Sitting down I laced up the shoes and they felt great. Then I stood but and could feel how awkward the arch/mid of the shoe felt. It was awkwardly tight and did not have any sort of natural feel to it whatsoever. Sigh, I guess we'll cross our fingers they change version too. But knowing Hoka they'll probably make it heavier and ruin what makes their shoes great; lightweight/max cushioned shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from yes On July 2016 I bought a pair of Hoka One One and the main reason I bought them was because I have a total hip replacement and I had made my mind that I was going to walk, waddle, jog, and run the San Antonio Rock & Roll Half Marathon to raise money for South Texas Food Bank. Well to make this story short I did NOT walk and ran the 13.1 miles. Besides not walking the entire race it was raining from start of the race believe or not until the 12 mile the rain stop. The final analysis I wore the Hoka One One through puddles of water. I am 54 years old and have to be very careful with my training due to my hip and have a couple of goals for 2017. To those runners that are just starting I highly recommend a pair of Hoka One One and patience "One Day at Time, One Mile a Day".
