Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for us chubby fokes I'm 5'10" and started at 298lbs talked to the shoe store about a light but supportive shoe that would also help soften the blow to my joints. The Hoka Bondi 4 is what they recommended (what they had in stock). It has performed at all the task at hand, but after 2 months and 100 miles the soft foam like soul has really wore out. Make sure your shoe store knows what they are talking about and get the right Hoka. Love the shoe, but looking for one that matches my weight and will last 200 miles. BTW I purchased two pair so I could alternate days of use. The picture only has 26 miles on them, so figur them at 100 miles. I'm also down 30lbs in two months.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoe for plantar fasciitis, but wears out quickly I average about 2 miles a day walking. Plantar fasciitis shut me down on walking, but these shoes have enough cushion and support that I got back on the road and am walking comfortably. My main complaint is that they are starting to wear out after 7 months of use. In fact, a plastic tab has broken through the fabric in the heel area making them unusable at this point. The warranty language makes it sound like this may not be covered since it not likely a manufacturing defect. Conflicted as to whether it is worth sending them in for consideration of a warranty replacement. Good shoe, just wish it would hold up better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not the Bondi 3 Use primarily for road running - about 50 miles/week - I am now 30 miles into them. First run I could tell they were no where near as comfortable as the Bondi 3s I have been using (4 pairs in the past 12 months). They are noticeably narrower, and not nearly as comfortable. They honestly feel more minimalist, which may not be a bad thing if that is what you are seeking. When I put on a new pair of B3s I felt as if I could run for days without stopping. These did not come close. With that said I tried them on a short 6 mile trail run and they felt much more stable than the B3s and had better traction. I will probably keep for that and try another model of Hoka.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A good shoe kept from greatness It's hard to write a review about a shoe that I really love but has one fatal flaw, the sole wears out very quickly. 10 weeks. I did return them as part of the warranty, but I can tell that the new ones are not going to last much longer. The shoes are light and comfortable. I originally purchased them because I was having foot issues. I don't notice that issue when I am wearing them, consequently I wear them all the time, but 10 weeks is just not exceptable for a shoe at this price. If they can fix the sole problem the shoe will go from 'good' to 'great'. The company was prompt in sending me new shoes but I hope don't have to continue to do so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Update, Fixed the 2 Issues with the Bondi 3 I am 6'2, 195. I am an athlete but not a great long distance runner. If you are a "bigger or heavier" runner or have injury problems from running, do yourself a favor and get these. (I used to run in Asics Nimbus and Nike Pegasis, and these have A LOT more cushioning than any Asics or Nike running shoe). I have run in the Hoka 3s, Clifton 1, and now Bondi 4. This Bondi 4 fixed the 2 problems with the 3: 1) Uncomfortable tongue - They now made it soft and it is much more comfortable. They fixed the weird laces that were in the 3 too. 2) Weight - I weighed my Bondi 3 & 4. For my size 14 shoes, the Bondi 4 was 1oz less. Great update, you are saving my knees each time I run in these. Thank you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Secret trail shoe The Bondi B 4 is a excellent all around shoe, it is a road shoe but does equally well on trails. It says for light trails but I live in red rock country and have some of the roughest trails anywhere and the Bondi does just fine. Much more responsive that the Stinson ATR and much lighter also. It is much more stable that the Speedgoat. The Challenger ATR does not provide the Hoka roll I love plus after 100 miles the Challengers flattened out and the cushioning was gone. I do 90 percent of my running on trails and the flagship Bondi B4 is by far the best shoe in the Hoka line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Little to no Break in required I have seen these shoes over the last year and had been using a zero drop for training becuase of the cushion. These are the best of both worlds with some heel strike benefits and great cushion. I bought these the day before a half marathon and wondered if i needed to break them in, which I would always recommend, but I took the chance and used them with no break in at all. They felt great and i was running the day after (today) which is never realistic becuase of knee and ankle pain. These shoes immediately elminated the day after aches of a 210 runner. Great feel and little to no transition from heel strike or zero drops becuase they are somewhere right in between. Can't wait to get a trail pair and hit the woods.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Shoe I started running about a year and half ago. Since then I have tried a variety of Shoes that were recommended by my local running store. No matter the style or brand, I always ended up with pain while running especially shin splints and inner knee pain. Not anymore. These Hoka's are amazing. I am now running without any pain and thereby running faster then ever before. I am a believer. I did have to go up a half size large to accommodate my wide foot. It would be a perfect fit I think if these came in a 4 E. They are ugly looking shoes, but I will gladly sacrifice looks for comfort. I am looking forward to continuing to train for my 2nd ever half marathon in these shoes
