Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Necessity for Each Trip I absolutely love this chair. Nothing feels better than sitting down at camp after a long day of hiking. The weight of this thing is incredible; mine weighs in at 17.8oz. It's negligible inside my pack and has accompanied me on every trip. The chair does sit very low to the ground and doesn't have upper back support. But, it is at a good angle that helps to spread out your weight. It feels like a recliner. I can't recommend this chair enough. It's lightweight, comfortable, and now a backpacking essential for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from small and light Not the most comfortable and stable chair, but for the size and weight it is amazing. It feels so great to have a comfortable chair to sit in after a long day on the trail. I have taken this chair with me on the last two backpacking trips and I will not be leaving home without it again. I was very tired of not having a place to rest my back while sitting around the fire and night. My back would get so tired on 5 day backpacking trips from a combination of a heavy pack, fishing, and sitting on a log around a camp fire with no place to relax my back. After being able to relax my back in this chair while sitting around camp, it made all the difference for the rest of the trip. This adds to the enjoyment of backpacking. I have tried out many backpacking chairs and this was not my favorite based on comfort and stability. But I picked this chair because it packs down smaller and was by far the lightest option. Overall I felt this was the best option for backpacking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Backcountry luxury I have already had the opportunity to use my new Helinox Chair Zero on a recent 3 day backcountry backpacking trip in the Buffalo River Wilderness in Arkansas. The chair is so light that I didn't even notice an extra item in my pack. It was small enough to pack in one of my outer pockets so that I could take it out trailside during breaks, and it was so quick to set up that it didn't cause me to slow the group for setup or takedown. Sitting around camp, cooking, or relaxing by the fire was so much more enjoyable than a rock chair that I would typically set up. Every time that I would get up from the fire, someone was in my chair when I came back. I was the envy of the trip, and I wasn't sore from sitting on rocks or logs like I usually am after my trips. I am 6'0", 200# and fit the Chair Zero perfectly. It was so nice to have comfortable, luxurious back support around the fire. I can't wait to use it again. Just make sure you aren't trying to sit on soft earth. Legs sink into the soil if it isn't a well-packed area. I didn't have trouble with tipping backward as others have claimed. I think this is probably the best chair on the market for the weight. I got mine discounted, so price wasn't terrible for me, but the regular retail price is steep if you aren't a serious backpacker. It was definitely a luxury that I will never leave behind and is worth a miniscule 17 ounces in my pack!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and Light This chair is simple to set up, very light, and actually pretty comfortable! Good addition to your backpacking trip if you don't mind the extra bulk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Chair We got two of these a couple of months ago and they are awesome chairs. We have taken them on couple of backpacking trips and they work very good and are super lite. Although I do have to say that it is a little weird to have actual chairs when you're backpacking, but they are comfortable!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really is as advertised Really great design and very comfortable for a chair of its size and weight. Is it as comfortable as your 10 pound car camping lounger? No. And it does take a little care to use on soft ground (sand, snow). But for a 1 pound chair that is size of water bottle, it's awesome for backpacking so you're not sitting on the ground, you can sit in your chair and still have your sleeping pad set up (not option with kits that convert pads into chairs). I even carry it on day hikes now, it fits in water bottle pocket of my day pack, stop and chill somewhere and boom, instant chair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great chair for fun adventures! Really have enjoyed how easy to carry and use this chair has been, wish I had purchased this sooner. It is light weight in my backpack for camping, to throw in my pack for bike rides to the lake, to take in the tent for reading at night. Most comfortable lightweight chair ever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big comfort in a tiny package Got these for a backpacking trip because i was tired of sitting on rocks. After my sleeping pad this is the best money I have spent. Super lightweight, comfortable, and no cold rocks to sit on when drinking your morning coffee. Expensive, but you get what you pay for. Only problem is the legs will sink in to soft ground and they can be tippy.

Hi! What is the height of the chair legs? When seating, how far you will be from the ground?

Asked by: Inna

How are these transported -- backpack style or the cord around one shoulder?

Asked by: fancypantz
Hey there, thanks for asking! Neither, actually. These pack down to about the size of a 2 liter, and the stuff sack can be thrown in your bag or carried by the drawstrings. I hope this helps!
