The Gregory Women's Deva 60L Pack is a hiking pack for long weekends or short weeks. The smallest of the Deva brood allows you to pack comfort gear on a short summer trip or just the right amount of stuff on a winter overnighter. Coupled with the Response A3W suspension and QuickSwap 30D interchangeable LifeSpan EVA foam harness and hipbelt, it'll comfortably carry whatever you're dragging into the backcountry. The lumbar area features silicone grip for non-slip positioning at your back and a LumbarTune removable 10mm insert for customizable cushion. The top loader can be fully packed, with center access provided by the U-zip and a removable divider separating your sleeping bag with a zippered lower access. A removable SideKick hydration sleeve holds onto your reservoir in the bag, but take it out when you're headed on a side trail for lighter, faster excursions away from camp. When moving camps, pack extra water into a Nalgene and the SideWinder pocket holds it tight and you can simply reach back to grab it as needed. You can even bring along an electronic device and place it into the water-resistant hipbelt pocket, just remember you may want additional security as it isn't waterproof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great backpack! I tried this backpack and also the Osprey Ariel and Aura backpacks. This one is a bit stiffer and not as cushioned than the Osprey brands but once I had weight in the backpack, I could feel the difference in support. The Gregory backpack felt like it gave me more support, more balance, and was more structured. I was surprised to see how much I liked this backpack as it was not quite as soft as the others. The weight in this one is comparable to other brands now. I love this backpack! Plus the blue color with pink accents are great! I was able to fit a 40oz hydroflask in the side which did not fall out when I bent over to pick things up. It also comes with a pink rainfly and a detachable daypack. The only (minor) complaint I have is that the drawstring broke on the first trip that I had and I could not compress the top part of my backpack. It was easily repairable at home though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than 6000 miles on my Deva I have a disclaimer. I am not an ultralight backpacker. I like my bells and whistles. Which is why I am in love with the Deva 60L pack. I've put 6,000+ miles on 2 different versions (2011 and 2014) of the Deva packs during various multi-day trips, as well as 2 thru hikes. Comfort and pockets have always been the winning features for me. On the 2014 updated version, I fell in love with the waterproof hip belt pocket, as my thru hike in New Zealand was VERY RAINY. I love that the rain cover comes included for the updated pack. I also love the sidekick bag. For a thru hiker who sometimes has town errands, it is a nice bonus to have a smaller pack to take around. In terms of comfort, I've always felt like Gregory packs do not skimp on cushioning and fit, maybe to a fault since the Deva is heavier than competitor packs. I try out other packs to broaden my horizons, but I'll be surprised if my Deva doesn't go with me on my next thru hike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and Reliably Load Carrier I have used my Gregory Deva for the past two years for trips ranging from 1 - 5 days. These trips have been everywhere from summer alpine lake hopping to the summit of Mt. Rainier. My Deva has been a constant companion and carries loads big and small (25 - 50 pounds) like a champion. This is a cadillac pack - you can certainly find them lighter - but I find it to be worth the extra base weight. This pack has excellent lumbar support and a great padded waist belt for load support. The side pockets are also amazing for quick reach items without needing to open the main pack body. I love this pack.

How big are the water bottle pockets? Will it hold a 32 oz bottle?

Asked by: Kendra
Hiya Kendra, thanks for your question! I was able to fit a 40 ounce Hydro Flask bottle in the side pocket. Hope this helps!

I reviewed the size guide but I don't know how to determine which size I would need once I do the measurement. Can you please clarify. Also- I have to carry a laptop computer- does this pack have a good compartment to protect a laptop?

Asked by: Smitty
Hi there, thanks for your questions! The sizing is based on your torso measurement. Here are the all the sizes and corresponding torso measurements: XS - 14 to 16 inch torso Small - 16 to 18 inch torso Medium - 18 to 20 inch torso If you do not know your torso size, follow these directions to get the measurements: 1. Tilt your head forward and feel for the bony bump where the slope of your shoulders meets your neck. This is your 7th cervical (or C7) vertebra—and the top of your torso length. 2. On each side of your body, slide your hands down the ribcage to the top of your hip bones (aka the iliac crest). With index fingers pointing forward and thumbs pointing backward, draw an imaginary line between your thumbs. This spot on your lumbar is the bottom of your torso measurement. 3. Stand up straight and have a friend measure (you'll need a flexible measuring tape) the distance between the C7 and the imaginary line between your thumbs. That’s your torso length. The pack does not have a designated laptop sleeve, but it could fit in the detachable daypack. Hope this helps!

- + Size Guide

Gregory Women's Packs

Gregory backpacking packs are available in a size range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of each size of a pack. The steps below are a guide for measuring your torso size.

The hipbelts on Gregory backpacking packs are adjustable to fit a range of sizes. A simple rule of thumb is that the ideal distance between the ends of the hipbelt pads after tightening should be 3 to 5 inches. However, the most important criteria are that the hipbelt wraps clear over the side of your body and that it rests 1 inch above your iliac crest. This allows proper load transfer to your skeletal structure, which maximizes comfort and minimizes energy expenditure.

1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
