FEATURES of the Gregory Men's Baltoro 75L Pack

  • Response A3 suspension: Auto angle adjust (A3) hipbelts and shoulder harnesses adapt to your unique body geometry for a custom fit every time you shoulder the pack
  • Patented system allows both harnesses and both hipbelts to rotate independently of each other, delivering a dynamic yet stable ride that adapts to your body's movements over different terrain
  • Response A3 helps align your center of gravity over your walking path, saving energy you'd otherwise spend on stabilization
  • That little bit of energy saved adds up with every step, increasing your overall efficiency-and preserving your bliss-as the miles tick by
  • 3D AIR hipbelts and shoulder harnesses: Precurve technology and multi-density lifespan EVA foam construction combine to eliminate hotspots and relieve pressure in sensitive areas
  • 3D AIR mesh wicks away moisture and distributes it throughout the woven surface, increasing overall comfort and allowing the hipbelts and shoulder harnesses to dry quickly during a well-earned trail break
  • Wishbone frame: A high-strength tubular aluminum frame defines the perimeter of the back panel, channeling the weight of the pack to the center of your lower back and around your hip structure
  • Design allows your upper body and hips to flex naturally while minimizing side-to-side sway as you hike, saving energy and keeping you more comfortable over longer distances
  • The frame also features anti-barreling support to prevent the pack from losing its shape and keeps the load close to your center of gravity
  • Matrix ventilated backpanel: Ventilated structural foam wrapped in breathable mesh provides enhanced moisture management in a low-profile backpanel design
  • It offers excellent airflow while keeping the pack very close to your back for crucial energy savings while carrying heavier loads
  • Comfortgrip: A soft-molded contoured pad ensures the weight of the pack transfers comfortably to your lower back and hips
  • Silicone grip overlays prevent the pad from slipping, keeping the hipbelt in position on your body's main load-bearing structure
  • Full body U-Zip main opening on front of bag for easy unloading when you get to camp
  • Custom fitted raincover included-stows in a quick access zippered pocket on underside of the top lid
  • Removable hydration sleeve converts into fast and light sidekick daypack with shoulder harnesses and accessory pocket

  • Double barrel top lid design with dual zippered pockets and a flexible center divider for larger items
  • Zippered bottom sleeping bag compartment with removable divider

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Weight Gregory lists it as 4.96 pounds, but I measured the one I bought at 5.12 pounds. That is about 2 and a half ounces heavier. By the way, this is the weight not including the rain fly or the mini packlet. The total weight of my Baltoro is 5.635 pounds, which is the same as 5 pounds 10.2 ounces.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would buy this again, but increase the space more. I love how the pack performs and handles heavy loads. As a scoutmaster, I find myself carrying heavy because of BSA rules. The pack performs extremely well and balances every load. However, my biggest gripe about the pack is available space. I also have a Gregory Stout 75L which has significantly more space than the Baltoro. On the flip side, this pack fits my body like a glove, supports the lumbar, and places the load right where it needs to be, my legs. In my opinion, if you took the Gregory stout and slapped the frame, lumbar support, and all the goodies, this pack would be perfect. Also, the pockets on the hip belt were also significantly larger on the Gregory Stout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful pack Amazing pack. The Gregory Baltoro is the only pack that fits me right. It is the only pack that I found comfortable enough to take it on a week long backpacking trip. I hate bladders they always seem to leak and get my stuff wet so I use my water bottle most of the times and I can grab and put away my Nalgene 1.5L water bottle in the water bottle pouch on the side. The price is kind of high and I am cheap so it took a while for me to make my decision on what pack to buy, but when I went to try on packs the only pack I was happy with was the Baltoro and still today I don't regret spending extra money on this high end pack. So I do believe that the Baltoro is worth the money.

- + Size Guide

Gregory Men's Packs

Gregory backpacking packs are available in a size range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of each size of a pack. The steps below are a guide for measuring your torso size.

The hipbelts on Gregory backpacking packs are adjustable to fit a range of sizes. A simple rule of thumb is that the ideal distance between the ends of the hipbelt pads after tightening should be 3 to 5 inches. However, the most important criteria are that the hipbelt wraps clear over the side of your body and that it rests 1 inch above your iliac crest. This allows proper load transfer to your skeletal structure, which maximizes comfort and minimizes energy expenditure.

HOW to MEASURE TORSO SIZE
1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
